My God, they were so ubiquitous/hideous back in the early Eighties, why on Earth would you want them now?

Very recently bought a new bike, was starting from scratch as I haven't cycled for years so been on a spending splurge over the last few weeks smile

Bought a cage and bottle with the bike:

https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/gear/product/...

After a little research decided on some 'to be seen' lights:
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Lezyne-Strip-Drive-Pro-LED...
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Knog-Blinder-4-LED-USB-Rec...

Saddle bag to keep phone/keys/pump etc in:
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Lezyne-Caddy-MTB-Mountain-...
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Topeak-Race-Rocket-HP-Mini...

Helmet:
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Bell-Event-Road-Cycling-He...

To make use of the Speed/Cadence sensor that the bike came with:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/garmin-vivoactive-hr-gps-s...

Rather than leaning the bike against the wall:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/pro-bike-display-stand/

And a few days ago had enough of soggy feet and a flapping waterproof so bought these:
https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/gear/product/...

Need to invest in some padded undershorts and waterproof socks next smile

Given the recent change in the AED - BGP exchange rate, Wiggle received an order for another pair of Altura gloves, gel padded shorts, gel padded bib shorts, inner tubes (4), Look Keo cleats (2 pairs). I will pick them up when I am back in the UK in August. More orders may be placed after reviewing recent purchases made on this thread (new shoes and a 2 bottle seat mount being on the radar).

Got sick of constantly having to fix my rubbish standard wheels, so picked up these Pro Lite ones. They weigh the same as my old wheels but decently feel faster. Made quite a few PRs on strava despite being a bit hungover. Plus they look quite cool, which is always guaranteed to increase power.

Couple of new boots for my GT hardtail.

26x2.3 Specialised Purgatory Control for the rear

And a 26x2.30 Maxxis high roller for the front.

Seen good reviews for both and managed to find the Specialised on offer at £20 so it's got to be worth a punt.

And one other purchase, a Seasucker mini bomber 2 bike carrier, been meaning to get a new carrier for ages as I can't put my boot carrier on the Subaru for obvious spoiler based reason's, as I'm determined to get into it a lot more again this seems a worthwhile purchase, along with a couple of pairs of Endura shorts, underlayers and tops along with a winter jacket while it was on offer.

Not my car but you get the idea.

Does that rack come with a weight limit for bikes? Ive been looking at them as ive been considering getting roof rails etc fitted, they both cost quite a bit but then i wont use the roof rails for anything else apart from lugging the pedal bikes around.

What car have you got? Roof rack kist are fairly cheap these days unless you go for something like Thule or manufacturer options (BMW/Ford etc etc) and even that equipment is usaully made by Thule.

I paid £15 for a used set of Thule roof bars (I have an estate with roof rails). Before that I paid £40 for a roof rack kit for my Saab 9-3 saloon. That was new and made by Summit. The downside was the profile of the bars were square and therefor quite noisy at motorway speeds.

I have a really cheap rail for carrying my bike. Takes ages to fit and is fiddly to attach the bike. I'm told that the Thule 591 is considerably better, but I'm loathed to spend another £50 on something that will only be used two or three times a year tops.

Got a nasty feeling that the rail clamp is not going to work with my new bike de to aero tubes. Bike will be going in the boot if the clamp doesn't work!

They quote it'll take a bike upto 45 pounds on each carrier, can't think of many bikes that are that heavy.

Just grab a pair of these:

Had a 30% offer pop up on FB this morning limited to 50 people - took a chance and bagged them for £245.

Pressed the button on the KS eTEN Integra dropper post this morning, £135 from Tredz.

Looks like I've completely blown my £750 budget for building my full suspension bike in the last couple of days - looking more like £1100 with the carbon wheels, tubeless set up, tyres and dropper post.....

Still it means that I still have a trail oriented HT to use as well instead of swapping the dropper and Mavics to the full susser....

Just need to get on a build the dam thing when all the bits arrive!

A pair of Bont Vaypor S from the Wiggle eBay store:

Size 47, for a quite reasonable £61. The Bonts I have give me a bit of numbness on longer rides, so I got these a bit bigger in the hope that I can fit some decent insoles in. The others will just be used for TTs, with the intention of the new ones taking Sportive type ride duty.

(Or I'll sell 'em for a profit if I can.)

Just bought these. Fizik R3bs.
Spent far too much money on them but they are beautiful and replacing my budget DHB R1.0s
Took a gamble on the size but free returns stops me worrying too much.
