Needed some bidons, Planet X do High5 ones with 10 electrolyte tabs for £2.
Thought I'd had to the hat collection whilst I was at it.

Just ordered a 2016 Croix de Fer frameset. I'll wait until I know the frame is on its way before I start buying any bits. Need pretty much everything.

Vulpine Hoy Randa softshell jacket, looks good and was £53 instead of £140!

Parlee Altum frameset, Sram eTap groupset, and a Jagwire brake cable set.

Feeling quite poor but excited to start building when it all arrives.
Where did you get the frame from if you don't mind me asking? its on my shortlist for my new - definitely not needed, summer bike.

http://www.ubyk.co.uk/

I initially wanted the Altum R in Riviera Blue and they listed it in stock but when they phoned Parlee, it was out of stock and no longer available. I then saw the lighter Altum at Sigma and ubyk matched as we'd been in negotiation over other parts included in the deal.

Annoying I popped in my future LBS yesterday and they stock Parlee now and were open to deals. Kinetic Cycles in Hitchin.

Having been on a club 'try out' run yesterday and spraying everyone behind me with what must have been gallons of mud and water I bought a nice long set of mudguards...

...Then spent most of the day fitting the damned things!

I really don't remember mudguards being so fiddly when I was a teenager.

Still, they're on now, I just hope I can cope with the leading edge of the front one being just slightly off true. (Just couldn't get it to sit perfectly straight!) At least they're not rubbing.

I'm about to order the Carnac Notus helmet from Planet X, at £20, it would be rude not to, my current helmet is a bit smelly. wink Whilst I'm there I'll probably get a WC beanie and merino socks too.

A cheap "World Champ" jersey from AliExpress, as I can't really justify the cost of the Santini ones. Whilst on there I found some fake Rapha stuff too. So for £12.39 I have a Sky colours themed fake Brevet jersey coming. I got the real thing for Christmas, so I thought it would be interesting to see the two, side by side...

Just bought one of these Nineties beauties. I'm sure Selle Italia were given a bung from the IVF industry for the design of these

Does an entire bike count?

Just ordered a Giant Trinity Pro 1 with a few tricked up bits, pictures in the 'Show Off Your Bike' thread in due course.

Ordered this last night

I preparation for fitting this

Which I haven't got round to actually ordering. But my new Brooks C13 doesn't fit my old post mount so I figure if i'm buying a new one i may as well go Enve... Which means I'll then have to get the Enve stem & aero bars.

Shame hehe

I managed to break that particular model of wrench pretty quickly. Ended up with a Norbar 13285 from Amazon (+ using the bits from the above broken one) which feels *significantly* more solid. Made in Oxfordshire too. Pricey, though, in comparison.

Ideally I'd get the Silca one, it's lovely. But it's £100, and only goes 2-8nm...

For the amount I'm going to use it I'll give the one above a go, especially for £24!

Norbar does 1-20Nm and can be had for under £60 IIRC

I always find myself adding bits and bobs on to a planet-x order, normally the item I'm after is not so much less than the postage price, they get me every time. Also looking for some waterproof but not over warm overshoes, nothing in stock in my size there though.

Today's order:
knog blinder 4X rear £10.50 (what I was after)

Grey neck tube £2 - how will it compare to my merino buff?

Fluoro X365 race gloves £5 - looking for something that runs cooler than my deep wintery ones

Merino socks £3 - trying a pair out

2 x TDF Bell £0.50 - my kids put these on their scooters and balance bikes etc

Boring purchases for me:
  • Stans sealant
  • KMC quick links
  • Puncture repair kit
  • Chain tool
Have any of the mountain bikers here tried the Ergon GE1 grips? They look like they'd be either brilliant of uncomfortable, so keen to hear what people have to say.
