The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread
Discussion
Vulpine Randa received this morning and I have to say I'm disappointed.
The quality of the material is nice but it's quite stiff, maybe it'll loosen up a bit but at present its more hard shell than soft.
There are also a few details that are just not quite right, the arms are baggy, I'm not Arnie but I'm not Flat Stanley either. I went for a large as I'm a 40" chest, here it fits nicely, the length is nice but why are the arms so baggy?
The fit is more like a cheap Altura jacket I commute in, in contrast my long sleeve Rapha club and winter jerseys are perfect in the arm, not constricting but not flapping around either.
The neck is also weird, it's cut quite high but again it's loose on my 16" neck, yes I'd probably be wearing a buff but on those days when the temp is climbing I'd like the option to not and with this neck you'll just get a draft coming in.
I'd like to ride with it to test it but the return policy is obv unused and unwashed, on that basis I think it's going back.
I just want a drizzle resistant jersey that's warm for those cold drizzly days, how hard is it?

How did you get those for under a ton?
Care to share the deals?
The Cortex flow was £55 in Canyon's 12 days of Christmas sale, the Feature was £28 in Cycle Surgery's sale, but they very generously gave me a £10 voucher when they could only send me one of the 4 items I ordered in their £5 flash sale, taking it down to £18 and the Carnec was £20 on Planet X's Daily deal. Care to share the deals?
Does anyone have any codes for more money or free postage on the Rapha sale? I know they normally email various stuff out but I can't find one. I want a jersey, a couple of winter collars (ace for skiing) and might be tempted by the bar tape if I think pink matches my bike.
Following on from my previous post I've ordered a 50T FSA ring and 34T SRAM one to convert my bike to a compact from semi-compact. I'm getting old...

I solved the problem by spending more and getting it above the free postage threshold, man maths at work right there.
Anyone who likes Camelbak bottles I found these which were 5 CHF, although that seems to somehow translate to £5 in the UK... http://www.rapha.cc/gb/en/shop/cycle-club-bidon/pr...

What is a good wheelset for enduro type riding+trail riding? I visit few times in bike park in a summer and at least a one longer race (40miles). I have 160mm/150mm fullsus.
This is something I am looking at, I have a Cube Hardtail but don't like the DT swiss wheels that came with it. I have heard good things about 'Superstar Components' as they are apparently good value for money, but I think I may spec a set of Hand-built wheels.Planning some Hope pro4 hubs with Stans rims (no idea which ones yet) and some decent spokes.
Going to speak to Merlin cycles about the build.

Which dt swiss wheelset you have? Funnily i was thinking to get dt swiss 350 hubs and ex471 rims. But i'm not sure.Planning some Hope pro4 hubs with Stans rims (no idea which ones yet) and some decent spokes.

They are badged as dt swiss 453d and run on deore hubs, they are silent, don't roll that fast, don't feel particularly light and out of true already. Prob made cheaply in bulk to give to cube.If truth be told they are probably okay for the riding I do but I REALLY want wheels with Hope Pro 4 hubs just because they sound fantastic
