I know many on here are cycling gods, but I needed a bigger ring to get me up some of the climbs over on the Purbecks, 'hope' this will do the trick -
£220 all fitted by my LBS, it's a much cheaper option than going 12 speed.
Very bling! Be interested to hear about the wear rates.£220 all fitted by my LBS, it's a much cheaper option than going 12 speed.
Cassettes are all so expensive these days, I still cant bring myself to spend £100 on one and a few years ago more than £30 was considered too extravagant.

After becoming totally f**ked off with the bag of marbles that is the BB30 I've ordered one of these;
And one of these to go on the top of them;
Hopefully I will make my CAAD10 even more of a pleasure to ride!
Quick update for anyone with a BB30 - dump it and convert to a Praxis and standard cranks - wish I had done this a year ago! Great conversion (takes 10 mins if you have the tools), no creaking, clicking or movement - the Praxis BB conversion is really smooth, very stiff - if Cannondale had made this right out of the factory I think they would have built the prefect off the peg alu bike!And one of these to go on the top of them;

A trip to Decathlon early on Saturday morning and I bought some MTB shoes, some multi-release SPD cleats, a puncture repair kit and a 'Fender Flash' mudguard to try to keep some of the clag out of my pivot bearings and front mech.
Not had a chance to test any of it yet though. Too knackered after a few late nights and early mornings, and too much of a Jessie because the weather isn't being very nice right now...

Does this mean Farnborough is open now then mate?Not had a chance to test any of it yet though. Too knackered after a few late nights and early mornings, and too much of a Jessie because the weather isn't being very nice right now...
Picked up a couple of bargains to titivate the MTB.
M780 10 speed XT shifters and a set of M8000 XT brakes.
Turns out the older 10 speed shifters are incompatible with the brakes due to the mind numbingly confusing different incarnations of the I-spec mounting system.
Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to tidy up the bars. I'll just have to stick with two clamps each side.

Had a bit of a splurge at the weekend. Bought a dropper post for the mountain bike, 2 25mm tyres, bars, stem, tape, cassette for the road bike. Enjoyed tinkering on Sunday although I cant get the cassette off. Turns out the Shimano tool is different to the Campag one. Ebay was my friend here so should be getting this done later this week.

Glad you asked, maybe take the kids to Smyths Toys.....and pop next door! The banner on the front of the new Farnborough store says it'll open on March 23rd. It was certainly not ready to open when I passed on Sunday morning... https://www.decathlon.co.uk/farnborough.html

A conti Mountain King tyre, an X king tyre, and a chain checker tool.
Did you find a good price on the Mountain King?I run a pair tubeless and really liked them as an alternative to the masses running on Maxxis...
..However the front has strangely gone 'off-round'. At first I thought the wheel was buckled, but it seems to be the tyre that is distorted.
I tried re-mounting it a couple of times but it hasnt helped, so I'm in the market for another one if they are at good price somewhere.
A new cassette for my MTB. Again!
Winter is playing havoc with component wear on it. Wear that I can ill-afford to put right really.
So thank Halfords for price matching. I didn't want to wait on the post office to deliver it, so I reserved a Shimano CS-HG81 (SLX) 10 Speed 11-36T Cassette for the princely sum of £26.99, only a penny more than Wiggle so I didn't quibble about them not quite matching the price!

A new freehub, and a Wippermann Connex 10-speed 'quick link' ready for to go on with my new chain, cassette, and freehub.

Getting there now with a MTB 'spares pack' for the Battle On The Beach race at the end of the month. Just some brake pads and a big handful of cable ties and I reckon I've got most bases covered...
