Arrived today, 3 days after ordering and all is good, looking forward to getting it all fitted now.

Highly recommend the place, great communication of delivery process and fast receipt.

Nobby Nic front tyre
Larsen TT rear tyre
Lezyne mini pump for the Camelbak
Baby seat to carry the youngest around

About to put the Yeti in for a paint job. Will take a few weeks, so it'll be back to the bum-numbing hardtail.

Bought new handlebars for my Whyte. I just can't get along with the laid-out position. I love the bike apart from that and always suspected I'd be happier sitting more upwards. I bought some "cruiser" type handlebars for it and fitted them this morning:

And now, because summer is a-comin' I can wear shorts again which have loads of pockets, so the triangle bag can go. As can the mudguards (looks much better without them).

Spent about €40 on Aldi last week on bike parts

then 7€ on a chain cleaning widget from Lidl

Last night it was Shimano spds. Half price in CRC worked out more cost efficiant than the replacment cleats i actually intended on buying..

Oh, and Sunday i 'won' A mint condition Boardmand Fi mtb Comp for the missus roughly 55% off its new price

Thanks. The Whyte is a real eye-catching design. Many people comment on it which sort of validates that I don't have too outrageous tastes. smile

I have recently had to concede defeat and leave my Saturday morning cycle club. They're all "roadies" and for a while we had up to 4 hybrids which sort of bunched up behind them - often a couple of miles behind. Recently though two of the hybrid riders have swapped to roadies and another has dropped out, leaving me to consider the options. In the end I decided to scale back the miles and increase the effort so now I tow my daughter in the trailer around the local cycle paths at a more leisurely pace. We still managed 11 miles last weekend though and I certainly felt the additional weight. My son's the real hero though - he's only 6yo and on a nondescript single speed managed those same 11 miles.

Now with the more upright seating, I should be fine.

Last weekend:

And with the Whyte in the pic with the old handlebars (daughter was watching a pair of approaching horses):

Brilliant pics!

Is that a Chariot trailer? Been considering one for ours but would be behind an MTB (wife's Spesh Rockhopper).

Got our little one going fairly well on his Rohan balance bike but he's 2.5 so plenty of time yet. The other one is 11 weeks old so possibly a bit young for a bike!

Love Whyte MTBs - might consider a Ti or Carbon HT frame if my Stumpjumper frame ever breaks.

It's not a Chariot, no. A friend gave it to me - but it's quite light and rolls well. I think my daughter needs a bit more comfort though and so I'm considering a Chariot if I could find a "single" sized one with suspension. She gets rattled around in that one, so I have to take it slow, and because it's a "double" I have to go carefully around pedestrians, and through safety gates.

Still, we tried it (probably done ~100 miles with it now) and it's proved we will use such a thing. It's really good and she generally loves it. Moaned a bit last weekend but she may have just been tired.

Missed a good single Chariot on Ebay because I couldn't commit to the spend. I've worked that out now, so it's just a matter of time.

P.S. Chariot does a "baby sling" which looks interesting. Everyone is over-protective of their babies, and we were the same but I'm quite impressed with this. In a softly sprung Chariot, it might be OK. 11 weeks sounds a bit too young though.

The balance bike got my son riding. They're such a brilliant idea. You know those threads which ask what you'd do if you could go back in time? I'd invent balance bikes..!! smile

2 x Schwalbe Ultremo R.1 Evolution Coloured Folding Road Tyre 700x23c Red

The last ones were starting to wear badly so I'm not wanting to take the risk of a blow out. Dropped my wheel off at the shop to get a very slight buckle fixed too,£5 quid well spent. The £60 on the tyres, well, we will wait and see.

For a cannondale caad9, 09 model I think

Green with envy - angling for a Five for my 40th next year!

Have just ordered a Hussefelt Bar & Stem, set of Alberts (2.1 & 2.25), about to place an order for an SLA Shadow rear mech, then hoping for a set of Hope Pro2's with 321's or 719's next month - not made my mind up which ones yet. . . .
