What's that then please? I think that would work well with the miniguards mentioned earlier.
Made by Zefal looking now to see how much I got my Christmas present a bit early this year:
I've worn it out in the pissing rain and 3 degrees already on its own and it's great, no flappy rain jacket and it kept me dry and warm. The only trouble is you feel you have to stay on the drops and add a few kph to justify wearing it.

A shimano windbreak jacket as CRC have them reduced to 37 from 90 odd, should stop me freezing to death on the rides. A sleeveless gillet wasn't enough, although I doubt its breathable, but should doble as a light rain jacket as well.
And some Castelli overshoes as the last cheapy set I had were neither warm or waterproof.
then I get the joy nxt year of replacing it all when I'm a fair bit slimmer! Next years won't be cheap either as once I've lost the numerious spare tyres I'm carrying I'll replace with Goretex. For now everything has to be cheapish as its all expendible.

Well, more than a month gone and I still can't use my new brakes. Never again will I order anything from Planet X. Ordered end of Sept and a week later a shifter for an MTB arrives. Not even close. I send it back to them the next day and nearly three weeks later the TRPs turn up. I open the packet to find three left arms and one right. Phone them up and they tell me they'll send a new one out ASAP. That was a week ago and I'm still waiting. Useless tts. I would never in a million years order a bike from them.
So, two months from the date of order and I've finally got a fully functioning brake set. It took numerous phone calls and I'd still never order from them again. On the plus side they seem completely incapable of the simplest of tasks, so they actually sent me out a second complete pair of brakes in the end leaving me with numerous spares that will last me a good while. Every cloud and all that…Ultegra DI2 gear kit....Merlin have a 10% deal this weekend so I've decided to take the plunge and go electronic. These parts are going on my Scott Foil which is a non di2 frame so I'll have to be brave & get the drill out. It would appear I'll have to enlarge a few holes & not get too brutal with the Bosch. The Foil is a 3 season workhorse so I'm not too precious about it tbh. I'll be taking off Dura Ace 7900 transmission parts & getting those on eBay soon enough. The wheels on the bike (Zipp 404's) are a few years old so can't be upgraded to 11speed so the rear is being rebuilt with a Hope RS Mono hub. There's a bit of tinkering to be done which I'll no doubt enjoy.

I've am doing the Wiggle Fallen Leaves MTB thingy around the South Downs next weekend. I don't ride the MTB very much so I thought that I had better give it the once over and noticed the front tyre had a huge tear in the sidewall, and the rear had no tread in the centre so I have ordered these;

You missed an opportunity to look super cool carrying them as the pros did in the days before support cars; in a figure-eight and worn like a backpack.
I did contemplate that option, but decided against it as I get enough funny/dirty looks on the train journey part of my commute as it is! Two pairs of brake pads for my Deore M615 brakes...
...to replace the set that were shredded during Round 1 of the Merida Brass Monkeys winter enduro series.
I'd described the brakes as sounding "like a bag of spanners in a tumble drier" at the time. Now I know why. The race was last Sunday, and the bike has been sat ever since, due to other commitments this week. Today, I had time to clean it up and check it over. So much mud on the outside of the bike, so no surprise that some of it got to the 'inside' bits. The bottom bracket looks like it'll need doing too, but the brakes were the most important items at the moment.
My only worry is that these pads are 'organic', whereas what I really wanted was 'sintered'. The ones that got shredded are 'resin' pads, which are supposedly a kind of halfway house between the performance of the organics and the robustness of the sintered. I'd tried Superstar Components earlier in the week, but they were out of stock on all types of pad for these brakes.
