The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread
Discussion
My turbo trainer died a death this evening after quite a few years of hard work and a total lack of love and care! Rather than spend a fortune on a super fandango machine of pain, I decided to keep it cheap and simple and ordered one of these;
Elite Crono Fluid
Elite Crono Fluid
A new bottom bracket, which I had fitted by the shop.
It went onto my MTB, which I'm going to be riding in Round 2 of the Merida Brass Monkeys winter enduro series at Tunnel Hill this weekend. And boy, did it need it. I managed to quickly wash the bike and drop it at the shop after my ride on Wednesday afternoon, and picked it up less than 24 hours later. Great service from 'Sylvester Brothers' in Cove, Farnborough.

New tubs, Continental Competition 700c x 22, for my 'new' summer bike.
Hope they aren't going on Zipps! Seen quite a few trashed Zipps now that had 22's on them, they don't offer the rim any protection in case of a pothole strike.Are there any tubs that offer good rim protection against a pot hole?
Back to the LBS today for new cone bearings for the front wheel...
Not a standard front axle (larger ball bearing and cone nut diameter, like a rear axle), so had to buy a rear one. Cone nuts wouldn't fit old axle (wrong thread diameter) so I had to cut down the new rear axle to match the length of the old front one.
A little under £12 all in, including...
Rear axle.
Packet of ball bearings.
Tube of Lithium Grease.
...followed by a couple of hours of swearing at the fast fading light, and trying to do the work by torchlight ready for a race tomorrow...

Not strickly bike related, but a passport renewal
To be followed in a few weeks of flights to Barcelona, a hotel for a week in Girona and a bike bag. A quick look round the maths work out to be about the same, or slightly cheaper to fly my bike out and back than to hire 1!
Question is can I squeeze an 810 into the budget too
