Ha, it's gotta be worth a couple of Km/h winkI'll settle for more energy towards the end of a ride though Steve! Went for little test ride and it's surprisingly comfy. Was expecting a harsh ride compared to the alu Caad but it's really smooth, less buzzy somehow.

Fresh from the Chinese Carbon Clinchers thread:

60mm, straight-pull spokes £320 delivered - in less than a week, which caught me out and meant I couldn't keep them hidden from the OH.

They seem a good match for 23mm Contis and roll along very nicely - thanks to Pablo and one or two others for the pointers.

The feckers have put them back up to £99.99 (R3 SLs) so I will have to check back in a week or something. Too many hits push the prices up I suspect...
Planet X are feckers for doing that. They do it with bikes as well. They had their new nanolight on the site for £1k and then they upped the price to £1299. Also the bike specs and pricing is constantly changing.

Are you aware of the Planet X discount code?
Not sure of the dscount code, but tried a few from forums. However by being patient, got these Fizik R3 SL shoes for £49.99. I would have paid £69.99 for them last week, but they put them back up to £99.99. By waiting they came down to £49.99 so I instantly pulled the trigger.

Their pricing system is undoubtedly clever, but I like to think I won this time!

The postman delivered mine today.

Been sitting on the train with my full length Altura bib shorts. Its not a great look and full lycra isn't really needed for my 8 miles a dday through central London, so I have been on the hunt for some MTB shorts with liner and pockets. Didn't want to pay alot as it all comes off the money I have saved cycling instead of using the tube.

My default choice for any clothing is Wiggle's DHB, but I didn't really like any of their shorts as they used buttons for adjusting the waist. Altura shorts used velcro, which looked much better. However, the ones I liked were £56!! I was going to give up and buy some on Ebay, but then a pair of ex display altura shorts came up on Evans for £26, which is a bargain smile

Never really used Evans since I started road biking back in 2010, but I now work at Bank and the London Bridge branch is only a 5 minute walk from my office, so its fairly convenient and I don't have to wait 3 days (ish) for a Wiggle delivery smile

Not the flashiest shorts in the world, but I'm only using them for commuting, so its all good smile

Got the New Forest Sportive on Sunday and maybe another in May, so no more purchases for a while.

Magic links, lots of them! I'm not sure how my order for 2 set of twin packs ended up at 4 sets of twin packs, but I really hope I don't need 8 sets of magic links any time soon!

Broken frame, dream build aspirations were forced on me .... Add in man maths and .....

Niner Air9 RDO in Liquorice and Black
Rockshox SID XX 100mm with Xlock
RDO Setback seatpost
RDO 80mm Stem
Rotor Rex 3.2 crankset with 38/25 Q rings
Hope rear hub conversion kit for 12mm thru axle
Jagwire Ripcord Gear cable set
XTR Chain

Plus some other bits and bobs .... Hopefully it'll all be here before I go to NZ for 3wks so the LBS can build it while I'm away. If not, even more time off the bike .... The loaner from the LBS has eaten its BB already :-(

90mm Deda Zero100 Stem – Much better fit for me than the outgoing ITM 110mm and it is 90g lighter.

New Deda Zero100 seat post – didn’t like the old Planet X one and this one is 150g lighter.

New Bar Tape – some good old fashioned Cinelli Gel Cork, very comfortable.

Waiting on a new Carbon bottle cage.

Then best of all, some Vittoria Open Corsa CX III 25c tyre's.....what a difference to 23c. Had my doubts but they're superb!!

The old Giant feels like a new bike and most of the above were picked up in the Easter sales smile

New family bus came equipped with roof bars and bike racks. Seemed sensible until I realised how damn high they are.

Ah well, guess it is an upper body workout.

I like Zero 100 stuff but keep an eye on the faceplate, they are prone to cracking near the bolts....
