I assume that 11-34 is an MTB ratio? What rear mech is that?

On another note, IRC 23mm tubeless tyre and Zefal sealant ordered with some spare brake blocks.

Tyre fitted myself even through I was expecting it to be tough to get on.

Edge 25 for my Brompton as my edge 1000 would look like a TV on it!

Don't think it's an mtb ratio. Standard Tiagra derailleur. I thought it would be too short but the bike shop were happy that it would work.

Expensive kit right there, in more ways that one.

I think the Everesting to earn the right to buy it would be easier than parting with the sums involved to buy the gear... wink

The bibs are cheaper than my Assos S7's, its more about finding the right hill (maybe next year).

I've just put in a Wiggle order...

@ £11.49

@ £5.50

@ £7.99

I've left it long enough to replace the cleats, I've torn through my existing CO2 cartridges this week, and I've been meaning to get some of that lube after being given a sample sized bottle at 'Battle On The Beach' in March this year.

£25 less some copper. Pushing the boat out big time with this massive order. It should be enough to calm Wiggle's collective nerves after the Brexit vote...

Loads of overtime at work the past few weeks so I figured why not treat myself to a new toy biggrin
Looking forward to getting it built up next week.

As I'm in the process of putting the bike on a diet after Tuscany, and the ooooooh carbon blingy bits turning up, I thought these were an essensial buy so I don't damage them.

They look like a great idea.

I just "won" a frame from the Wiggle eBay outlet, so will be building up a new commuter ready for the winter.

It's a steel frame with horizontal dropouts, so not ideal as I live in lumpy Devon with at least one categorised climb each way to work.

I'm thinking some form of hub gears cut down on the maintenance, full mudguards, the balloon-iest gatorskins, perhaps 35s, and TT bars. (My commute tends to be my training, so might as make it count.)

Does anyone know anything about hub gears?

In addition to a pile of club kit (which has had to paid out of a private account to prevent my lovely wife from finding out how much it all cost wink) and in anticipation of the Dunwich Dynamo ("Yes darling, it's all absolutely essential"), I should today take delivery of:

Lezyne Macro Drive 600XL light - Figure I can run it on low power pretty much all night, but with the backup of a decent flood of light if need be

Jetvalve Bottle Cage Mount for CO2 Cartridges - Allows me to carry plenty of gas without taking up a load of space in bags

Couple of folding Schwalbe Durano tyres - my Continentals (wired) are a bugger to get on and off and have done a few thousand miles so look Edward Scissorhands has been changing my tubes etc.

Lizard Skins DSP Bar Tape - Existing bar tape was OK but it got damaged in a recent off, can't have that

Cassette Tool & Chain Whip - I will be trying a 12-32 cassette sometime

Rim tape & spoke tool, and if I can ever figure out where I can get some compatible spokes from locally then I'll get them too.

Tuesday's 105 mile nightmare included an early stop at Pedal On in Tadley, where I picked up most of this little lot...

Road bike - 11spd 105 cassette and chain (replacing Ultegra kit fitted)

MTB - 10spd Deore cassette and chain (like for like swaps) and a Wipperman Connex joining link, plus one set of resin brake pads

Misc - the 'Touring' puncture repair kit. Not cheap at c£4.50, but the best I've used. The sandpaper 'scuffer' is padded with foam on the back, and so much easier to use with cold, wet fingers.

The Tesco LED front light (along with batteries for my rear lamp) was bought in desperation in Tesco, Newbury, to allow me to continue my journey home. Less than £3, and utterly crap, but I was so glad of it as my 700 lumen front lamp got dimmer and dimmer all the way home.

Planet-X has dropped the price of the London Road frameset to £169, so I've nabbed one for my son

When he's ready to move up a size, we'll build it together. I have everything to build it up as a flat-bar CX bike - suitable for forests and towpaths.
Excellent idea, my son has had his around 9 months now, he's just turned 15, excellent bike that will do it all and he loves it.

I'm a little bit jealous - the frame is featherweight, despite being "only" alloy.

I've had fun buying all the other bits too. I'll lay them all out and get a pic of the lot in the next couple of weeks.
