Two johnnies, some laggy bands and some electrical tape will be spiffing.

It's a Gen2, I know the gen1's are crap.

All going on my work ride, so I'm actually OK in that respect.........
Gen 2 seem to be just affected as Gen 1, there's a big thread on Bikeradar.

One of my mates got one just after Christmas, it's already been back to Saddleback once as the battery was draining within a 8-10 hours.

Not something to do with the lockring and the fork is it?
I had this problem with my front Hunt wheel and I was duly sent 2 Shimano lockrings FOC to rectify the situation.

I don't know anyone who has one who hasn't replaced there's AT LEAST ONCE. Only last weekend one of my mates (who's on his 3rd unit, 2 x Gen 1, 1 x Gen 2) who's battery drained and they said to send it back, so that'll be his 4th unit. I think he's being far too patient ...

After becoming totally f**ked off with the bag of marbles that is the BB30 I've ordered one of these;

And one of these to go on the top of them;

Hopefully I will make my CAAD10 even more of a pleasure to ride!

It's pretty bad tbh, I know the forums through up the worst but the BR thread is 17 pages long!

I wonder if a 4iiii is a better bet at that end of the market?

I would like a PM, but the Stages issue puts me off.

I run Shimano on my winter / commuter and Campag on my other two bikes so I have a bit of an issue there too.

I was tempted to do this recently, and might still do so will be interested to see how you get on with this. My BB failed totally on the Etape du Tour last year so I went all the way up the Joux Plaine with an extremely loud creak every pedal rotation for about 90 minutes!

It's not cheap, but actually buying this plus an Ultegra crank is still cheaper than an equivalent spec BB30 replacement from Rotor or FSA

Only time will tell regarding 4iiii like any power products. A mate bought on last week so we'll see how he gets on ... for all the issues people are having, Stages do seem pretty good at swapping them, which is no less than you'd hope really.

I plumped for a Power2max last May after reading up on options and have been v happy thus far. I replaced the first battery on October so probably after 5-6k miles which isn't bad.

I work in technology but I'm not an 'early adopter', I like to see products on the market for a while so I know exactly what to expect.

Your solution is simple, not cheap, you need two a pair of power meters! winkbiggrin

The BB30 has been driving me nuts since I bought the bike a year ago, it's had 3 BB's and been back to Evans a good 8 or so times! Trouble is it's not actually the BB that makes the noise, it's the cups that the bearings sit in hence changing one set of BB30 bearings for another won't fix it. The noise has become so bad that I sound like I'm dragging a bag of ball bearings along behind me so enough is enough!

I'll let you know how I get on with it once the bits arrive.

Just ordered a 500ml bottle of "Squirt" chain lube, and a ten-speed chain for my MTB.

Wiggle were out of stock on Wippermann Chain Links, Shimano brake pads, and a few other bits and pieces, all of which were listed as much cheaper than usual. No doubt they'll be back up to the usual price just as they come back into stock. Funny that, eh?

This little lot all arrived over the last couple of days:

Converting my Nukeproof Mega from 2x10 to 1x10 as I seem to be hunting for gears with the 2x.

Going 32t up front and 11-42t at the back.

... I've actually got a more concerning problem at the moment and I'm expecting a call back from the company. I won't share at the moment as it's only right I give them a chance to get it sorted.
Any update on this?

Superstar Chainring looks nice. Are they only available in Black? (sorry being a lazy git, bit on the move and no time to check)

All sorts of colours. In round or oval. 30t round and 32t oval come with captive nuts which saves buying single chainring bolts (just re-use your existing longer ones) and they are much more secure.

Just ordered a 11-32 Ultegra cassette and a medium shimano real derailer plus an ultegra chain as the bike came with a 52/36 11-28 configuration and the hills are pretty big around here! Also ordered a Rapha RCC top ( Thanks Dowks) and a Lezyne Super GPS computer.

That's a great combo 52/36 and 11/32 works up to about 25%!
