They made the Rockstar deal look a lot bigger than it actually was to try and tempt more funding out of them in the future.

clausy26 said: Wow change your tampon mate and calm down never said they didnt work hard for it which they obviously did for such a big company to sponsor them was just saying after no real intrest in our sport before theyve come on the scene which is brilliant that sort of sponsor works well in drag racing First of all have some of these; ..... ,,,,, Those are to help with punctuation. Second of all, I have not needed a tampon since a terrible incident with a game of swingball and my nose took the hit. But thank you. Finally, I think you took it a bit personally to be honest, I was more stating that they would of made the first move with regards to Rockstar. I agree that Energy drinks companies and similar do belong with Drag Racing due to it's extreme nature. Problem is when the market is already so saturated will sponsoring a team that may appear on TV for about 10 minutes a year benefit them or the team more?

Cant find the original thread, but it looks like SPR have compromised on the racer tix deal.
Seems fair enough to me, what do you, the Racer think ?

I think it's a long shot to expect that other costs won't have to rise in the future to sustain the Pod's berth as one of Europe's better facilities. Entry fees are staying the same, and now they've compromised on the racer tickets too, yet none of the operating costs will have got cheaper. I think it's unrealistic and unfair not to expect the powers that be to have to increase costs sooner rather than later. It's a business after all.

Agree with Lee on that one, compared to everywhere else the Pod is cheap both for entry and spectators (look at the price of Tierp!) and a weekend at Shakey is comparable in cost to the Pod, with no offense to Shakey the facilties and level of racing on offer are a distance apart from what the Pod has.
A very good gesture by SPR in my opinion, but we should also realise how much they already try and keep things reasonable for everyone and the improvements put in constantly.

Unfortunately there are a lot of sportsman racers though who are struggling to afford to pay the amount of difference that would have been the case. Over a year your talking of hundreds of pounds - i mean you guys know how much it costs to build and run these cars at each event. For some of us teams with tighter budgets the difference was too much. Im not saying that we should expect that the price doesnt go up, but the size of the rise was the problem - maybe it could have been better split between racers and spectators? Anyway, santa pod looked at the situation and made a very good gesture meeting the race teams half way on this - for which I know I am very gratefull and im sure others are too.

Pretty sure the Pod website doesn't just make things up, so sounds like pretty good confirmation to me.
