Looked very depressing when I looked on the web cam this morning, it's a pity Easter wasnt a week earlier this year.

Did you learn anything for the Main Event? Graham seemed to wait a long time in stage on sunday and then just had to launch before the lights ran down. The warm-ups are pretty brutal when you build the boost.

Well with all the various rain delays yesterday there was plenty of time to wander around the pits

To be honest, the simple answer is we learnt nothing, barring the fact turbo motors can be just as fickle as blown ones! We got what we wanted from the first pass which was a banker really, everything was pretty soft to get down the track and a 6.72 was pretty satisfactory. The plan was then to turn the wick up and start running some decent et's, sadly the gremlins came to visit and that was that. We started suffering with massively fluctuating boost levels, causing us to launch either way softer than intended (hence tyreshake) or a sudden whack of power at the wrong time (which is where the redlights came from). We found issues with the boost controller and a separate one with one of the wastegates last night and got them fixed but obviously never got to stick a pass on the car today. Next step is a test before the main event to run through everything again but with a bit of luck representative times aren't too far away. It's very brutal yeah and there is literally a ton of grunt on tap, once we get a full pass on the car with anything like a 2.6 330ft time it'll be extremely difficult not to run a 5 second pass circa 250mph. It's a long road though.

I hadn't noticed before this weekend, but the bird appears to have some kind of shroud on the wheelie bars. Is that for aero reasons, or something else?
