Weren't they told to install that fence ?
possibly yes but the way its constructed could have been better and cost no more
turn the sheets of wire 90 degrees

that same fencing is used in prison perimeter fencing, where its supposed to stop people seeing through,
It does seem a bit daft then, unless there was some reason it had to be that way up of course.

I haven't really looked at it myself, just curious.

I think the Pro Test session on Friday evening was superb. The Sportsman classes managed to get a fair few cycles of qualifying in and then the Pro Test session was almost non stop and very popular.

Nah dont go there anymore.

There is no event quite like Drag Week. Driving your vehicle 1,000 miles in five days while racing at four different dragstrips along the way.

Like comparing apple to oranges isnt it.

Not really, their cars are street legal, so is Andy's.. That's the end of it..

If someone decides to only drive an Enzo 300 miles in 3 years, is it no longer a street car? Drag week is not the deciding factor as to whether a car is street legal..

Now move along please.

Horrendous meeting in many respects, but all of them out of anyone's control. The track crew were (once again) outstanding and got us as much racing as they could, given the circumstances. Some great runs in most classes. TF was a little underwhelming, but I suspect it would have been even over the full quarter. Some good showings in PM from the MPM and turbo cars, but I can't help feeling Bruno already has one hand on the championship trophy this year. TMD was again a highlight with some strong runs. It's a shame the meeting wasn't able to be completed, but all of the sportsman racers know what they're signing up for when they enter the FIA events.

I have to agree with the pitside fence. I suspect they didn't have a choice, and that it had to be installed for safety reasons, but I'm disappointed with just how much it reduces visibility. As a spectator this weekend, it wasn't a problem as I could head round to the bank, or to the grandstands on the days I had tickets for them. But at meetings when I'm racing, it essentially means I can't watch any racing at all. I can't risk going over to the bank in case my class gets called.

I agree Bruno has one hand on the championship, one he thoroughly deserves, he dont have the no 2 on his car for nothing..... but that was despite some serious efforts from various directions to have the field cut to 8 cars, which all credit to santa pod they resisted, refused and in fact had already predicted the situation and taken action to be sure they legaly could run 16 cars much to the annoyance of some,

i dont care what is said but that was a blatent effort to reduce the points available to entrants here to reduce the deficit those not attending have to make up during the year to have a tilt at the championship it was so transparent its embarrassing and just bad for the sport

Let's hope it teaches those who didn't turn up and want to cause trouble a lesson. At the end of the day Bruno can leave the pod with his head held high , his integrity intact and the points lead he fully deserves, more than can be said for some who didn't turn up by the sounds of it! If the others dont win the championship now, it will be through their own decision not to race, so tough luck!!!

Personally I think that event is a good measuring stick to prove road endurance and reliability not just on track performance. Iam waiting for the yanks to offer an invitation over or so thats what I think.

Iam still doing my research... HRM I swear featured something years ago but not opening a can of worms yet before I get confirmation on the vehicle. Its not Dan Millans mid 6 street car either.

Yep re comments on sportsman classes - we learnt our lesson last year and purposely entered the Thurs test session, fri sportsman day and packed up sat to avoid any waiting around over the sun and mon. Glad we did now taking the weather into account. Any mainstream racing in the UK for us from now on is testing only until Comp Elim or another class becomes available.

What is your agenda? Tell me your real name so i know who is trying to have a go at us...
You too frightened to put your real name up here?
And i think i mentioned to you that i don't give 2 f**ks about drag week. Maybe you're blind as well as stupid...

we want drag racers not a Cannoball run or a Beugolais run, MOT and tax disc does it for me....

Would it be capable? thats what I shouldve wrote. Dragweek is a pretty grueling schedule that looks very challenging not mentioning the racing. Maybe my bluntness is caused by watching it over there. No idea about the car but David Wolfes run 6.5s@ 227 on drag radials. No idea if its road legal but wouldnt be suprised as its on radials.

Wouldnt make much difference as I dont go to European drag racing anymore.

I can only presume you are the same chump who commented on a photo of Frosty on Facebook at the weekend bleating the same thing.

Your obsession with Drag Week is getting silly now.

Larry Larsen didn't run his time at the FIA Main Event so I presume he is not the fastest street car in the world.

To say a car can only set a record by attending a set event in a set country at a set date is frankly ridiculous.

Accept it for what it is and be proud that the record is in Britain.

Thanks for posting those numbers on a car that you have no idea about and no idea if it is road legal.

I once saw a big long car go 4.70's at over 300 mph, I have no idea if it was road legal but it had a steering wheel so I would not be surprised if it was.

I agree it is ridiculous but it's the sort of arguments you hear any time the US Drag Racing scene is upstaged by the Europeans.

And the Yanks are more than welcome to come here, Hell they can drive here if they want, show up at pod, go along side Andy's street legal car and lose.

You think they'd be up for that?
