Wow.

Also, I've never seen a vehicle tested for noise at an MOT, is that a thing? My old Audi was judged too loud for Castle Combe (pansies) and yet nary a blink come MOT time.

[quote=vrooom]Nice one, you beat the record of Larry Larson's 6.9xx street legal record.[/quot
Sure its an achievement but Larrys car is a totally different kettle of fish for obvious reasons.

Amazing car but......

Can anyone on here tell me what the fastest time an actual street legal car has done, i.e road tyres, no 6 foot long wheelie bars etc?

I'd imagine it would be some sort of modded pro-street type car, a sooped up Supra or similar?

Awesome stuff.

I love how, on the last thread/article, he said there was more to come - it's always good (and frankly quite amazing in this case given what he has achieved already) to see a claim like that being backed up.

Congrats.

Nope. There are several cars that have run 7.6s passes in street legal trim. Andy is one of them in Red Victor 2, John Sleath did so in his Audi Quattro, and Colin Lazenby has done it in a Chevy 210. The quickest street legal Supras and the like are still a second or so slower than that IIRC.

In fact, if memory serves, I think Andy ran a 7.4s pass in street legal trim at just under 200mph.

Fantastic and congrats to them, always knew they would do it. One question though, why is it LHD?

This car has run an 8.8 (yes really) with original engine (1.3 rotary) and chassis (no back-half conversion or space-frame):

Very different take on things to Red Victor, but both cars are amazing UK creations.
