Hi Andy,
this is a council thing, not only in Hockenheim but anywhere else in Germany, too.
You have to get a "travelling salesman" permit, some other races/exhibitions don´t care about that but it could be a hefty fine from local inspectors if they catch the sellers. (And, yes, they have inspectors running around, on weekends, in plainclothes) So better pay the 50€ or risk a bigger penalty.

Thank you Try this address : sabine.tesseraux@hockenheimring.de ask Mrs Tesseraux about a "Verkaufs-Genehmigung" , meaning you are looking for a "sales permit", and she should be able to send you the address of the correct -and hopefully able to read english- official in the city hall of Hockenheim. Hope you get some results, and have a good trip !

You would have to sell quite a few T-shirts to cover the €50 let alone your initial costs for the material and printing, can't see you making a profit out of that... I didn't see you sell many shirts at Dragstalgia...

I already have the t-shirts ready to go, so there is no expense there, and I sold more than enough at dragstalgia to cover the 50 outlay, would be a shame to leave them here if I can sell some while over at Hockenheim

few of my friends were there this weekend and did comment the traction was awful, they have now put a msg out asking for people to bring any old slicks to help bring the track around
