I am sure nobody would begrudge him for staying at home to sort out handling problems..

People would probably take issue with the track being "another reason" not to come. Which it quite clearly says on Eurodragster.
Yup agreed. I suppose we're all entitled to take our cars and race where we want tho. It's his money at the end of the day and he's entitled to his opinion and to use it where he wants, even if we don't necessarily agree with some of his reasoning given that he raced in Finland and German which are worse tracks than Santa pod.

Hey ho though, let's look on the bright side, there are 17 other fantastic cars to watch including 8 or so brilliant Brits to cheer on.

Mats/Green Goblin is a regular and popular racer/car who will be conspicuous by his absence.
Polite of him to explain the reasons for the benefit of his fans.
Whilst citing a track issue though he may have done well to remember it is also the same track that delivered him Europes first PM 5 a handful of visits ago.

Shame, but it's their loss, never seen the point in having a nice car, and not racing it if you can do it. Unfortunately if it's purely down to the reason about tracks, then they are going to find it very difficult to stand a chane in the European championship if they only want to Race at one track.

Hell like I said though, let's enjoy the cars that will be racing, and not worry about those that wont be racing, maybe it will give other people a chance to win that usually wouldn't get a shot. Roll on the finals!

The suspension cars are much more susceptible to tracks than those without suspension.

But the Fuel cars are the main draw for the crowd.

In the NHRA they seem happy to let Pro Mod drop out unless it is bank rolled. That is why I would be surprised to see tracks make a huge investment (that they possibly can't afford) just to satisfy the suspension classes.

just remember unlike nhra the european top fuel drivers are part of speedgroup just like pro mod and pro stock speedgroup administer ALL pro classes so you dont get to pick and choose

nhra dont have 6 pro stock cars and 8 tf if their lucky either....

also not everyone who will drop out has a choice....

The tracks are not dropping classes from running obviously. The drivers are making their own decisions.

What I am getting at is the money coming through the gate would be effected much more if there was a depleated fuel car field than a depleated pro mod/pro stock field.

The national events at Tierp where pro mod is the headline act have not drawn crowds like an FIA round do.

Is anyone else getting fed up with all the speculation and political bullst yet, what happened to just going racing and enjoying yourself?? Now it seems to be all about putting emphasis on who's NOT going to be there (and analysing why), bhing, back-stabbing and a constant bad atmosphere over the sport. How about crossing our fingers for a dry event, everyone getting home with their cars and equipment still in one piece and god forbid - enjoying it while we're there eh?

There are always those who will get fed up with the politics and controversy but generally that is what all popular sports survive on. Everyone wants a dry event, everyone wants a safe event and everyone wants to enjoy the event, there isnt really much to discuss there.

In pretty much all sports the actual event/match etc is so short in the grand scheme of things there has to be something else for fans to talk about between events. This is where politics and controversy comes in.

The Al Hoffman vs John Force match ups from years passed were awesome because of the rivalry and controversy surrounding them. Pretending everything is perfect and every ones is friends won't necessarily make the sport grow to the professional level we would like to see. The F1 investigations/rivalries/team fines/unfairness/drivers girlfriends etc keep that sport going in the papers even though some of the new tracks have next to no spectators in them.

I think youl find everyone loves on track rivalries and good healthy competition, which is what youre talking about, what Lee is getting at however is another thing entirely!
Roll on the weekend, and if the weather is as predicted everyone should fly....smile
Hope to see you all there and not behind a keyboard smile

Slightly off topic here but will grandstand tickets be available on the day or is that a pretty big no?
