1/4 mile is about 16-20 Gallons. Vanishing Point.

MIL spec is produced to specifically decompose on contact with silver screen cat pack.

MIL spec does not have all the stabilisers that are included in lower percentage grades of hydrogen peroxide.

The distilation process has never been carried out successfully by anyone in reality.

Erik Bengertson who was a chemist who worked manufacuring HTP set up his own HTP unit distilling hydrogen peroxide. He was the closest anyone has got MIL spec HTP. But he had an explosion with his plant. So he stopped producing about 10 yrs ago.

Eric Teboul distills small amounts but it is not MIL spec and he has to heat the cat pack before launch, that's why there is all that wait with him at the start line.

When Sammy Miller obtained the MIL spec HTP from Degussa in the 80's there was no wait on the line he just used to squirt two shots of HTP through the cat pack and then we used to count him down.

Degussa used to supply him with drums of MIL spec HTP you can see them next to the car in some of the photos on the net of Vanishing Point. There would be no chance of that nowadays. H&S ect.

The very early HTP was also manufacured by an electrolitic process which did not damage the cat pacs. Later the HTP was manufacured by an organic method which damaged cat pacs.
