What ECU are all the "fast" guys running in the States Graham ?
If it's Motec then happy days or if it's something weird & wonderful then it could be a big problem.
Can we not all agree between us that we run Motec ?

Big stuff 3 Is the ecu all the Americans use. Which is a more drag race based ecu and does not have half the facilities that motec have.

It would be a major problem for me running a Big Stuff ECU too. I want my own choice of ECU.

I'm still at a bit of a loss to understand why we're still going on about this. It really does sound like someone is already using it the way it's got to be sorted out now.

The protest is the way to make things happen. If someone thinks it's being used,then get the money out and let nature take it's course. You'll either be vindicated,or look stupid...

as he said... its a drag race orientated ecu and the owner/company is very close to precision turbo who supply the spec turbos for nhra, id imagine the spec ecu would be this or a derivative of this,

So the conclusions so far are:

To stop this there will have to be an ECU type that must be used.
There is not likely to be agreement on which type must be used.

With all of investment you guys are putting in it would make sense for you all to use traction control. I think I would.

But you won't be vindicated because there is no way to prove if it is being used.

ok dont sort it out ....i actuly dont give a fk ...if you all want to wait until its done for us and the option will probably be something you dont like go ahead,

The reason I think its got to be sorted is as i said there are more cars using ECU that will be joining the class ANY of who CAN cheat, and its ILLEGAL
as there is only two of us currently in the class if someone is using it (as you repeatedly say, not me) it must be you cause it sure as fk isnt me....

It was you who started this topic, surely you must have something in mind that made you commence this line of discussion. I know for a fact that we have no TC enabled. I don't believe you have. So what leads us to this position?

If that was the case then we wouldn't be running pro mod unfortunately.

So far there are 2 people in MSA pro mod using EFI.So either you Graham or myself are using it. This is what i can gather from this discussion.
Everyone else is blown or nitrous.

dont careful me...
Andy has said a couple of times now that i must think someone in the class already is using it
iv repeatedly said thats not the reason,

the reason is as iv said with the ecu becoming more popular in the class im not prepared to trust ANYONE not to cheat i want to KNOW there not cheating end of story...

Can we cut all the st out fellas and get it out on the table - who's suspecting who of using TC either now or in the past ?

That way we can understand how wide the issue is or isn't

Easy tiger.... If you step back and look at what your posting you'd see that you're saying people like John and Chris/Spencer will be suspect cheaters.
That's what it looks like to me.
Why not ride with it,as i'm sure the guys mentioned are as dedicated as you and I,and wouldn't dream of doing something illegal...

There isn't one,but Graham thinks there could potentially be one, which i think is not possible with the people we're talking about imo.

well john as i started the thread it must follow that im suspecting Andy of using TC,
iv told everyone here thats not the case, make of that what you like....
what i cant seem to get across is that unless you all want a control ecu then we better find a way that will apease the tech guys and OTHER RACERS Do you not all realize MG has studied all the downloads/manuals tech specs ect ect for these ECUs and thats out of his own mouth face to face...a year ago... you think no ones noticing whats going on??? realy????

with the FIA speed record held by a turbo car you think its being ignored,

So,we need to ask the tech commitee what they need to know then.It's pretty simple if that is what you're asking. From there a plan is drawn up to find out how the tech guys can check every ECU that is used....
I can't see what MG would have to do with it, particularly as in Europe the playing field is level. MPH means nothing, it's just a party number. ET is what wins,and turbo cars are way off in Europe.

What you're alluding to,and MG is then,is that if you have the capability of it then you MUST use it?

Bearing in mind i'm looking from here,and not from your perspective.

I honestly think you're overplaying it. If however you and MG are adamant about tech guys being able to check,then let's do as i suggested,and ask the tech committee what they need to know about checking ECU's. There are only 2 as far as i'm aware. Motec and Big Stuff. Or does ML use something else?
