Can you do a couple of Winter runs? The reduced air temperature and additional Oxygen content could be worth a few extra broken horses. smile
It would, but it would be negated by a freezing cold unprepped track. That track surface is more important than cold air...

Nobody likes running after Fireforce, the film of diesel doesn't help matters.

Fine. I think my parade has been extinguished. wink

Hmmmm....

Is there a world record quarter mile time set in snow? scratchchin

The downforce and weight transfer of having a plough up front and assisted drag from having a salt spreader on the back should be pretty stable.

I don't think they do snow chains big enough for Hoosters.

Secured the 6 second average but his car door blew off in the shut down area. Lucky to have made it in that one run as he wouldn't have been able to make another one.

I was about six years old when I first watched that film. Even then I questioned the use of incendiary explosive and petrol when a high density shaped charged would have been better. I spent the rest of the Easter holiday making and blowing up pallet boxes to prove my point. What a great childhood. smile

Are you offering to fund the costs of shipping RV3 to the US and racing it there, JB!?

I dont think Andy will be... Its a really utterly ridiculous cost to take the car over there, along with the rest of the infrastructure you need such as trailer, tools, spares, and then that is all compounded by Andy having to take time out from his business to do it meaning that in real terms he's potentially then losing money that he should be earning from that side of things. Andy did take a car over and race on that side of the pond before and when ive spoken to him he's always been very reluctant to do it again without a strong contribution towards the costs. Plus he has nothing to prove. He has a car that is street legal over here and over there, and its already gone faster than the cars that are over there competing... think that already says what needs to be said? Driving hundreds or thousands of miles on the street in a race car is an expensive game, the car being built over here or over there does not change that.

Alas I cannot afford such a venture, however would happily donate to a fund!

This would settle once and for all if RV3 really is street-able and can run the consistant times! 1000mi is a brutal test!

Lands End to John O'Groats from the Midlands is roughly 1,100 miles. scratchchin

Maybe stopping at Bruntingthorpe, Santa Pod, Shakespeare and York on the way to blow the motorway cobwebs out.

What needs settling? Do the numerous videos of RV3 on the road not convince you that it's streetable? 1000 miles is indeed a brutal test. But it's not a necessary one to be considered streetable. FWIW, I have no idea if RV3 would be able to do the 1000 miles necessary for Drag Week. But ultimately it's irrelevant. It was built to be the worlds quickest streetable car, and it's done that. There's not much more that needs to be said.

Drag Week is the Ultimate endurance event of its kind. A bit like Paris Dakar for quarter mile monsters. I used to commute on a Paris Dakar Spec' TDM850 and took part in the occasional track day, trail event and the supertwins quarter mile series.

My bike was just as good as the others but just because I hadn't ridden it across a desert didn't make it any less of a bike or me less of a rider.

Red Victor III is the worlds quickest street legal car, just because it she hasn't been driven across America does not and will not change that fact.
