Yeah, its a really tiny amount compared to the amount your paying out.

If I could commit the resources I'd love to go "pro" - but I know Im not in that position now, and I doubt I will ever be... Then again I doubted I'd run an 8, and now im trying for the low 7's or maybe at a squeeze a high 6 - so never say never lol. I have no idea what it takes to get even a small sponsor let alone a bit one or corporate type so that I could stand a chance. Then you have to either be your own boss or have a very understanding one to be able to put in the time required. I understand it's a very hard thing to do, which makes it more impressive when you think about the few rewards coming back from the sport.

The racer's dont make money, and weve seen tracks struggling, so they must have some real big expenditures to use up the money that comes in from tickets, entry fee's, merchandise, exhibitors, food stands etc. I guess alot goes on insurance.

Financially drag racing is the most illogical use of money possible!

Sure is fun though (when it works and all the shiny bits stay inside the big aluminium box anyway)

Yep, gotta be one of the worst miles per £ in tyres I have ever had, but the fun factor (even in a 13 second car) far outweighs the cost. The off season has been far too long...
