I noticed that the Brighton results seemed a little slow ET wise yet the terminal speeds are consistant.

At first i put this down to an unprepped poor startline with very poor grip. But it seems there is more to it.
First of all the MSA record the launch to 64 feet and not 60 feet. This gives some explanation to the launch times but not all.

I see they use timing struts and line the car up carefully on the start line. This suggests to me that the start is immediate and gives a true standing start timing. As we know we can hold our cars at the stage beam and we get a short but never the less significant run up to the timing beam.

So would it not be unfeasable to suggest that a 10.9 second street car with a 1.70 60 foot at the pod may only manage 2.4 seconds to 64 feet and run over 12.0 at Brighton?

Sure some of you guys can confirm or explain this further
