Hmm turn out not looking good so far, but on the plus side looks like John Spuffard is back!

One more to come for Easter, apparently. More may or may not materialize later in the season.

Edit: The extra one was Kevin. He's on the official entry list now.

Wonder if Marshall amps didn’t renew their sponsorship of the team rock car this year? Anyway least it’s a good trio of teams for the first round, should think they are fairly evenly matched

I think there was some banning of nitromethane following the death of Tony "The Hitman" Boden at hockenheim in 1986? someone will know

My memory of AAFC was driving towards Wroughton RN airyard and seeing the funny car bodies up in 1975

not sure how many but it was 8 at least for a Tor Line AAFC round
That brought back memories. Cyced 20 miles from home as a 15 year old to see an amazing show. I distinctly remember a Swedish Volve funny car called Backfire plus as you rightly mention at least 7 others. I believe there is actually some grainy and shaky YouTubefootage of some of the Wroughton action available.

the funny car class still remains my favourite, probably because my first memory of drag racing is the Stardust cuda, so I always live in hope of seeing good turnouts. It's great that the showtime guys are back out but this class needs numbers & track time and unless there's something going on in the shadows I just don't see this happening.

I don't know the sponsorship status, but as I understand it the car should be out on track later this year, just running a limited schedule rather than the full season.
