Oh it has been seen, just wishing those concerned were not involved in our sport which has been brought into disrepute.
Hoping that the whole debacle goes away for a long time just like the perpetrators.
Bit of a shame that the item didn't appear originally today and then we could dismiss it as an April Fool.
As the news hasn't appeared on Eurodragster then maybe it never really happened at all or does that site only promote selective items? I think we all know the answer to that!

How has the sport been brought into disrepute? Had Graham and Gareth been selling their wares at the track then maybe that would be a different situation. There are other people who are currently either on police bail or awaiting trial for different offences as we speak both here and abroad in Europe who just happen to be drag racers, how they choose to fund their race programs is their concern, although I do not condone either the trafficking or dealing of drugs, it has to be said that our sport in the uk has lost two fine racers and at least two more will go the same way. Gareth was a great tmfc pilot and Graham a driving force in pro mod.
They have been judged by their peers and sentenced accordingly, spare a thought for Katie who has had her world torn apart by all of this. As I have already said, I do not condone the trafficking or dealing of drugs but leave these guys in peace to do their time, let's face it they have a lot to do. One last thought, no one holds a gun to heads of the people who CHOOSE to put this crap in their bodies.

The most sensible comment I've read on the subject.

I only know what is in the article, and nobody can condone bringing guns and drugs with all the implications they have into civilised society, but I was shocked that a 56 year old family man can get 20 years jail by a judicial system that will free teenage murderers who've took to the streets with knives to get on with their lives in just 6 or 7 years.

That they were drag racers means nothing, had they been fishermen or golfers living it up on ill-gotten gains it still wouldn't have had a scrap of relevance.

What about all the other victims of crime that has been affected by their actions, all the families that have had their worlds torn apart.

I never really knew them, but certainly glad I never did following the conviction.

Yes, there is a lot of crime in this world, and drag racing is no different.

As the saying goes, 'You do the crime, you do the time' and accept all the criticism that comes your way.

Two more lives blighted by drugs. Albeit in a different way from most.

The only winners here are for those kids who miss out on being pressurised into trying this crap by dealers who now have nothing to sell.

Its a shame you people have nothing better to do. Remember Katie Ellis and we should only comment on them if we know the facts which we don't. I suppose all of you are with out sin. Remember he who throws the first stone.

Errr, the full facts are over the newspapers and television. I think we're all pretty au fait with the details of the case, even if you aren't.

Yeah, because if it's in the paper or on TV they're obviously the "full facts".

The facts as reported by the press are the bits that make good editorial for the readers, as said by Mark Twain, "never let the truth get in the way of a good story" there are facts behind the story but there also presumptions & exaggerations. Graham & Gareth are not evil men as portrayed, they may have broken the law but the sentence is way out of proportion. If you do not know them please do not pass judgement.

Anyone who brings class A drugs into the country is guilty of at least attempted murder. Its a poison that is killing both its users and the people who they prey on when they are desperate for their fix because they are hooked. They are eroding our society. How ever nice they may be at the race track, or how personable they are they were still doing massive damage to peoples lives. Maybe its not what they thought they were doing but at the end of the day that is what was happening. Im sorry to say it, and its heartbreaking for their families but that is the truth. They are now paying the price and doing their time - which is the end of it. However i do feel we should be saying that we dont want this. We dont want people smuggling drugs so they can race.

I don't know either guys, so couldn't comment on whether they are evil or not.

The act of importing such vast quantities of drugs is evil, however. Try stepping away from the glamorised 'Breaking Bad' view of drugs crime and meet up with those and their families whose lives have been utterly destroyed by drug abuse. Then consider the knock on crimes associated with the need to feed the addiction. The muggings, robberies, fraud, etc. And then there's the violent gangs that spring up funded by it all. The sentences are just.

As I said, two more lives blighted.
