The idea of a round in Malta is great, but why the finals? If they'd spent 2016 getting the track ready and then kicked off the 2017 championship with an early round in Malta, that would have made a lot of sense... but this seems a risky move, and it's going to look weird if both Malta and UK are claiming to hold 'the finals'.

Still, they are doing it, so I hope it works out!

Im confused

ED says SPR will hold the FIA Finals....... whilst the Halfar meeting will be the FIA Mediterranean finals

so will the FIA European championship classes be settled at the SPR meet (if not before) or at Halfar?

I believe that we will have a European Champion & a Mediterranean European Champion come the end of the season.

I have been (rarely) wrong before and I know I will be again but that is what I think.

I think this song by Willy Nelson and Merle Haggard called "It's all gone to pot" sums up the situation.
