Interesting. Leaving aside the "seen it" advantage currently enjoyed by the faster racer (assuming there's a considerable dial-in difference), this would take away a distinct advantage of leaving second. There's a balance to be had, if the brackets are a "package" competition then I'd agree with this new starting system. However, if there is to be any incentive from the industry for competitors to build a faster machine, this new starting setup will remove what little there is now. I guess it depends upon your philosophy as a bracket racer. My jury is out.

I kind of agree but not with the "It's all about the driver" bit. Even the best bracket driver would struggle with an inconsistent car or with a team who fail to provide a consistently prepared car.
