Hockenheim NITROLYMPX
Discussion
Hello Matt,
yes, you can, pits are as huge as @ Pod, FIA Pro on the F1 start straight (and waaay into turn 1),
in the pit lane boxes there is a huge mix of FIM / FIA / Sportsman classes,
and in the large all-asphalt area of the pits the mix continues.
Prepare for long walks when you want to see all cars/bikes, or find yout personal favourite,
again similar to SPR, but with more permanent bogs if need arises.
The ticket price list and grandstand overview can be seen here :
http://www.nitrolympx.de/sites/default/files/files...
You can check out the views from the various grandstands interactive here :
http://www.hockenheimring.de/tribuenen-ansichten
Only "Südtribüne A" , "Südtribüne C" and "Südtribüne Oberrang" are valid for NitrOlympX,
Oberrang would be my choice as the view (and sounds) from 1st & 2nd floor is very spectacular,
you can look way into the lineUp and see the track straight from behind/top incl. the shutdown area,
better than from my place in the commentator box beside the burnout zone.
The closest-to-track and poshest seats are on "Fahrerlager / VIP Tribüne" with parking zone,
this grandstand is erected only for Drag Racing but be prepared,
after a sunny day you might look like a "Pod Lobster".
If you want to try the quartermile yourself you can run RWYB one week before at "Public Race Days",
I might annoy you over the PA on both events.

Achtung Fahrerlager!I enjoyed Hockenheim. My only complaints were that crew without start line passes were only allowed to watch the racing from behind a chain link fence that obscured most of the view and that some of the security staff were living up to stereotypes a little too much, and were perhaps a bit overzealous.
Went to to Nitrolympx for the first time last year. Had a great weekend, pits and open and are full of race cars with a show n shine section as well.
Would go again for sure! Only a couple negative points from my point of view:
1) Some strange decisions made on track. For example they put on the fire display man thing during the night show Saturday night, it was impressive but they turned away the american altereds which I would have rather seen.
2)We stayed on site Sunday night, all food vendors pack up and leave so make sure you have some food left!
You'll have a great time if you go
Chris

Last time I went in 2015, crew had access to any of the grandstands to view apart from the night show where we had a specific grandstand to use beyond the start line on the right, so all good for us.I enjoyed Hockenheim.
