A huge amount of work has been done at Melbourne by Straighliners and volunteer work parties the last few weeknds.
The track and its facilities are better than they have ever been.

Who is signed up and looking forward to this years first meeting?

I cant wait!

Signed up ? No. But I wish all the best for the upcoming season, count yourself lucky to have several strips to choose from,

at least for some Sportsman Cars / Bikes and classes.

Here in Germany, we have only the semi-prepped quartermile in Zerbst ( near Dessau ) for DMV sportsman,

and some none-prepped Airfield events for T&T, with no or very stricly limited spectator access.

Fingers crossed for good weather, safe runs and fast times.

I'm glad that Melbourne has been saved and looks to have a bright future. I always enjoyed racing there with my Altered and with the Rover V8 racers. The staff were very friendly and the organisation was good.

Bit muddy yesterday ,and access track its usual self , but a very enjoyable day . Well done to all concerned . It is a work in progress , but it'd be good to get a better PA , especially if the outstanding Graham Beckwith were on the mic again . And perhaps the guy who sold decent coffee too?

ETA - the access road is now beyond a joke. I realise the strip was first priority but it's half a mile of potholed purgatory in a low car .

Apparently the work party the previous week reported the in roads to the spectator pits and the race pits were in fairly good shape but the recent weather and the fact we currently have Balfours on site working on the power lines had a detrimental effect to the roads. A lot of people made similar comments and these will be addressed as a priority. Please bear with us as all those involved are working very hard with limited funds. At least the weather behaved mostly for the 2 days racing and we had a lot of great racing. Its only going to get better every time moving forward.
