Next season will see the debut of at least 3 Nostalgia Top Fuel front engine Diggers in the UK. Being a young git, I wasn't around to see them the 1st time around. With the Nostalgia scene increasing in popularity almost by the day, what's the PH members view on how the front engine nitro burners will be received?

It's not been talked about much as I assume it's not been readily known about. Events are to be confirmed, as are participants, with a bigger announcement due shortly...

Besty.

should be awesome, the nostalgia is where the fun, semi-affordable heads up racing is
I'd imagine that the nitro diggers will be recieved will as long as they're running hard and banzai

fuel slingshots along with the fuel altereds.........what more can we need?

That is on a need to know basis, shall be announced soon. As for others, Gary's steaming along well and my Tonka toy should be sorted for a debut early next year.

This should be feckin awesome!

I've spent the last few weeks going through my Grandad's home videos of the Pod shot when I was a wee lad and I do like the way those slingshots move.

Are they actually going to be demonstrating at the Pod?

We honestly don't know yet - there's a couple of events we may attend but these probably wont be MSA / FIA events due to Sfi issues. This is more of an issue at SPR than SCR. The NSRA events at Shakey I intend to attend regardless, RWYB if needs be.

I just came back from a visit to the GoodGuys Gas & Fuel Finals at Famaso raceway in Bakersfield.
Lots of vintage dragsters overthere and the Top Fuels run 5.7s=260 mph on strict rules (6/71 blower, 392 style engines and 12" max tires)

Sounds great to me. Fuel altereds - nostalgia funny cars and now slingshots on nitro.
There can never be enough of these cars as far as i'm concerned, and i can remember them the first time around.

Good news and I am sure the organisers/fans will feel the same. It’s big ‘over there’ so why not ‘over here’.

Do you have any pictures (in construction or finished, if it’s got that far) of the car or its spec, like who built the chassis, etc. I'm sure everybody on here would be interested.

Herb,

There's some pics and specification info on my website (www.bestintentions.co.uk) , and there should be more info creeping around over the winter period for the other cars.

Thanks for the link, the construction pictures are great, and I look forward to seeing it, in 2007 at the drags.

Jon, think you may have let the cat out the bag on your own site, as listing a certain Alec Coe as being in the Supercharged Outlaws!!

Does this mean the Old git is rebuilding to run on Nitro?

Nope, it's not the old git, there's an age limit for Nostalgia Top Fuel...

As I said, I cant reveal anything more, it's not my place to. Full details of the supercharged outlaws roster, in its entirety, are available on the supercharged outlaws website, which I've conveniently forgotten the address for...

If your Dad built a FED what chance would he actually have of driving it? Rumour has it that a certain sister is already eying up your car!
