I blame my parents.

I was six weeks old when i went to my first drag race meet and 27 years later i am still there. Mainly at the 'Pod, but also to Shakey.

Thanks to my brother, he keeps me hooked on the sport One day.....one day...it will be me scaring the life out of my poor mother.

Freind of mine took me to the 'Pod to show me what 'real' fast cars were all about, instead of those Ferrari's & Porsche's I lusted after as a teenager. It was the 1984 Cannonball event. That did it for me; I thought, one day, I'm going to have one of them Top Fuel cars......19 years later.....2003....unfinished business.....hey presto, Canto Top Fuel team.

i happened to come across this website called beardmore bros which had on it this reliant kitten with a rover v8 in it which i remembered from an old street machine mag.i had to have it, so i emailed the guy asking about it and he seemed unsure about selling it as it had sentimental value, but after about another 10 emails, i managed to get him to let me view it
Result! You got a brilliant motor there. I guess he needed the money for his Minor, another awesome piece of kit. www.beardmorebros.co.uk/website%20pages/reliant_kitten.htm

Remember if you do ever think about selling it, I am No1 on the list. Pleased to hear its so much fun and I look forward to seeing the car with 300+bhp.

I got into it when I was about 10 -early eighty's.
Watching my dad running in wynn oil series in his mk1 v8 cavalier etc

Most memorable event was watching sammy miller run 3.58sec eek from the as a guest in the control tower and hearing how his ears and eyes bleed on the run with the g-force!
