John,

Would it not be much easier and simpler for everyone if you just posted them all on the web for all to see?

l've been criticised enough on the drag racing forum about just putting links, photos, etc instead of discussing the sport l love so much.

l want to send them to forum members because l can't put them on the Pistonheads forum as they were sent to me as jpegs, and l don't know how to put them on the forum.

John,

You can pics on the web for free - there's plenty of sites where you can host pics for free; even your own ISP should be giving you free space - I'm with BT and I get 50mb free.

I assume you have a lot of pics - and most peoples email are limited to 2, 3, 5, 7 or even 10mb-sized emails, so I suspect a lot of folks would not receive them, unless you sent them in batches, or zipped up - and even then it's hassle for folks.

I'd suggest you find somewhere to stick them and if anyone is interested, then email them the URL to where they are hosted.

But then, a lot of people are reluctant to give out their email addresses, in case it's sold on, or spammed in some way - so I doubt you'll get much if any take-up on your offer.

Also - by putting them on the web somewhere - then everyone can benefit, not just the very select/limited few who might email you.

Or if you can afford £33 a year - buy a website and space through Jamie (a fellow PH'er) and Register1.

I agree that you have been criticised for posting links, etc to other sites - but that's not how it's done. If people are THAT keen on the subject, then they will already be reading the site and will know what's there. This is a discussion forum to discuss whatever relevant subject - not a site to collect links to other websites, or videos.

I'd seriously think about setting up your own website and hosting everything on there - not just your pics, but your links, blog, etc, etc ... and all for £33 a year. Jamie over the Computing forum will sort you out.

No need to email the URL to anyone - just add it into your profile, which you have done already thumbup

Some lovely pics (for the record).

People will find them.
