There seems to be a resurgence in Fuel Funny Cars in 2007, ?Possible drivers.

1. John Spuffard.
2. Gordon Smith
3. Leif Helander
4. Gary Page
5. Junior Olley
6. Tony Betts (driving Harlan Thompsons old Daytona.)
7. Patrick Pers.
8. Harlan Thompson.

l emailed Shakey & The Pod about them running Funny Car Championship rounds, this is the reply l received from Shakey. When l get a reply from The Pod l'll let you know.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding a European Funny Car Championship round taking place at Shakespeare County Raceway. At this time the track has received no contact with any race organisation for the Funny Cars this season and at present, we have no intentions of running these cars or entertaining a championship round until at least 2008.

With regards to your list of possible drivers, as far as I understand it, Tony Betts will be running NFAA this year, and has since sold the ex-Harlan Thompson Dodge Daytona to Glenn Child who now has it for sale on e-bay.

Aye, good news indeed though it would be nice to see some pics of these new cars due for debuting this year, seems an age since we saw any new floppers so excuse me for being impatient

Is there any news on whether the new showtime car will be present or will it be the current one ?

...pounder: Last I heard from John was that they would be trying their hardest to get the new car ready for Easter, but the old one was obviously still in their possesion and they'd run it if the new car wasn't ready.

But shouldn't we be worrying what all these high bodied, long cars will look like with a monostrut wing instead?

Per & Karsten been shopping?

Mind you, I thought FIA followed NHRA regs 12 months behind? Hence Urs and the Anderssons having to take the Electronic timers off their cars for 2006, and re fit them this winter. Will the Monostrut be allowed in FIA before 2008?

(And that scheme 'aint a million miles away from your last Showtime design Chris. Anything we should know.....? lol)

Er...

No Jon! Its half a million miles further away than it is from Morgans 2006 design. Which I just developed in a European sort of way!

But I will say that I'm hoping the new Showtime Mustang looks as good in the flesh as it does on paper!

Yes Dave, sorry for the lack of reply, but I've been busy as Becks had an accident last week, writing-off the car and ending up with concussion for four or five days. So I've just been trying to sort her out and stop her from falling over!

So who's old car is this?

The old Skuza car that was in Sweden? Is that the clue Chris has provided?
