After reading the fuellers at Avon park thread it got me thinking about cars/drivers that disappeared.

here's a few off the top of my head.

Neil Taylors probe pro mod

The Turners old silkolene car

Heres one for Joe, Ken McCormacks (spl) Nissan funny car

I remember the drappers building a blown Calibra pro mod but did it ever see the light of day?

Also remember a progress report about a capri pro mod being built by a guy called Russ Gorham I think in custom car mid 90s.

Nick Cavey's nissan pro mod.

Anybody know what happened to these? Feel free to add more to the list.

the Turner's Silkolene car is sitting in their workshop, it was bought by someone from Bristol and nothing was ever done with it

the Draper's blown calibra was finished but never run and was then sold to a Greek

I think the Probe was broken up and sold when Neil Taylor went to work abroad.

Wayne Saunders old Probe was built by Hausers and a completley different car.

Ken Mac's 300zx FC was on eBay a few weeks ago now in Super Class format...

Didnt the Turners 'Silkoline' ex MacAttack rail get sold to the Emms family? Dad Chris was working his way up through a sportsman ET escort estate signwritten 'Cool Green' to driving the rail untill Ricky was a bit older. Ricky was working with the Turners a few years ago to gain experience of TMD. Dont know what happenned though.

Neil Taylors old Probe was his original pink Thunderbird, reshelled. He was planning to be one of the first to run Blown Alcohol, and then he emigrated. I imagine given the age of the chassis, it would have struggled to tag, but dont quote me on that. As has already been stated above, it was a completely different car to the Wayne Saunders Probe, which is, as stated, now owned by JT. I did hear JT had crashed the car at Hockenheim last year, but I dont know how badly the car was damaged.

Great thread, BTW

I recall it being a Lumina too, really liked the shape of that car, had a front end similar to the new Camaro concept.

Thought of some more

Fay fishers super pro dragster.

And Joe, what happened to your Dads methanol dragster chassis?

That is the ex-Sheavills 5-second car that was sold.

The one Doug ran before that was back out a couple of years ago with new paint and some weld 5 spokes on the front.

I want to say clive bush for some reason?

ETA:

I found this on Eurodragster from the APIRA Test and Tune on the 12th-13th April 2003.

Attracting a lot of admiring glances in the pits is Clive Bush and Andy Staton's 'Torque-E' Supercharged Outlaw dragster. This used to be the Shell Racing Top Methanol Dragster, and now features an Arias engine with a 14-71 blower. The car is set to run today without its rear wing which has not arrived, but the team were only planning to take it easy anyway. "It has a glide rather than a Lenco so we just want to see if it will take the power - it's got a huge throttle stop on it!", said Andy. The car looks very nice indeed, with paint by the team and fine detail by Clive himself. Andy said that the team are not tempted to run in Super Pro ET - "yet". Be sure to check out our photo update for pictures of this very fine car.

Sorry to cut and paste, please don't shoot me in flames like our dear friend. It's a one off!

I think Kenny Coleman bought it, turned it into a police car, ran it at York, put it on its roof and slid ended up back at the startline!

Then Wayne Nicholson bought the car and put a 3-series BMW shell on it and run it in Super Pro. This was written off on the way to the Euro Finals after a Army Lorry crashed into the back of the trailer injuring Wayne too as the trailer went through the motorhome.

The engine Kenny used was last seen in George Chiarellas (sp) Ford Coupe but was for sale as he is looking to go Pro Mod.

Neil Taylor's Probe (which began life as the Lumina) ended up with Mike Thomas who runs Nitrous Solutions, he was re-building the car for Street Eliminator some time ago.

Nick Cavey's Nissan Pro Mod is now the '62 Vette of Nigel Payne.

Any more for anymore....

Here's one... What ever happened to the Devil (which later became one of Barry Sheavills Stagecoach cars)?
