Talking comp-elim, is there an understandable set of rules for the class anywhere? It seems a fiendishly complicated class?

Time to revive the compeliminator.co.uk web site, perhaps?

Definitely time to revive that web site, Martin! It's all in the drag racing yearbook, but a nice helpful web site would be a good idea.

clap clap

i don't think it's got a lot to do with affecting championships Jim,more to do with going fast in a no breakout situation....
In fact i quite like "affecting" championships.... to win it all you have to race them all...thumbup

Thats my point, but some people don't agree with that! You running the MT's at the Main Event then Andy?

oh yes......

How about that Pro-ET entry we discussed Mr Frost? Breakout competition he he he

maybe not Wil.......

OK my original posting may have been a little touchy but I would have thought that any Sportsman racer who has the number of qualifying attempts he is likely to get at the Main Event will have sorted out what their dial-in was going to be by the time eliminations started. I realise that the track and weather conditions may have a bearing on this. It would be nice to see some CICs lowered by UK based racers...

Indeed. A/PM and AA/PM look ripe for adjustment...

I have made the site available at www.timemachine.co.uk/compeliminator/ for now - -be warned that information is likely to be outdated though.

If I get the time I may redo it without the time sensitive components.

That's because there's no such category. You're in AT/A. The fact that you're down as A/TA on the entry list is just a typo. As for the record, well Martin said the site was probably out of date. But you're a fair bit below the listed time, so yes, you probably do have the record for AT/A now...

I could be wrong but I think either a Swedish guy with a twin turbo small block Hyundai Coupe (run low 7s) or Johan Wikstrand with a twin turbo big block Chevelle (6.9s or so) would be the record holder in AT/A

whatever the record is it can only .590 under the current index(as i understand it)which would mean it would have to be 7.21 to be an absolute record on the 7.80 index.Unless someone ran a LOT under a previous index?
For me it really doesn't matter as long as i can go as fast as i want without breaking out..

Andy, can you not do something similar to the superstreetbike trick of running in 9.50 and breaking out HOOOOOGELY............Like 7.95/190

I think in principle you could set a record in qualifying without modifying the index. CIC only applies in eliminations (which I personally don't understand -- I can't see any reason it shouldn't apply in qualifying too)

Comp Eliminator ?
Yes, an interesting class, used to be raced with more cars in germany,
now some drivers have moved over to other classes,
but still interesting due to the great variety of cars racing each other,
and their indexes.
A lot of the Hockenheim spectators do not seem to understand it,
regardless how often I (try to) explain while announcing,
even when there is a crass example standing at the tree,
like a AA/D blown small-block and an F/D 2 litre 4cyl .
Maybe the brit racefans are more up to it.
Watch out for Dennis Habermann, he has been into 6es on a 7,55 Index,
to qualify good (top) in Hockenheim the racers usually have to run 0.5 to 0.7 secs under.
This year will see two german racers with BB/A Doorslammers,
ready to smash the 8.40 Index , one is racing the ex-Marcus Hilt 55 Shoebox PM.
Cheers,
Benni
