As a student I had a summer job driving a mobile cigarette shop owned by Imperial Tobaccos.
One venue was next to the startline at Santa Pod in 1970.

Been a fan and regular spectator ever since. biggrin

Had a go at York recently:

Hi, i'm Steve Case, 1970 Dodge Challenger, got the car into the 10's now, but currently building a bigger motor, so car won't be run in anger again until 2010!!! Done my 1st race in 1978 at the 'Pod, and have run such things as a supercharged 3 litre Capri, Formula 400 Firebird with GTO 389 six-pack, camaros etc.

I'm Nigel Holland and I race in the National Drag Racing Championships in the Sportsman ET class. Although I'm not racing this year due to lack of funds! I'm also one of many press photographers at Santa Pod Raceway.

My Racing Site: http://www.aveagoracing.co.uk

My Ford Mustang 4.6GT V8. Not a super fast car but very consistent which is all that's needed for bracket racing. My best ET is 14.8s.

Who am I kidding, of course I want to go faster. Going fast is fun and you can never have too much fun!

David Anniwell, Santa Pod baby and general timing and technical geek. Working at Santa Pod for 7 years and 5 years on timing. Also worked at Mantorp Park in 2008 & 2009. I'm the guy changing a lamp on the tree and looking gormless on the startline on the Eurodragster galleries from Veidec Festival 2009.

I'm Cliff Judson, I compete in the Pro street drag series at Shakespeare county raceway.
Last year (2008) was my first year competing, I was fortunate enough to win the street class title for the season and came 2nd overall with street and pro classes combined.

My car is a Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R. My engine is standard, as are the weak ceramic turbos, injectors and cams. Its basically a "stage 1" tuned GT-R with exhaust, filters, boost controller (1 bar boost) and remapped on an Apexi Power FC by Abbey motorsport, but has still produced a very respectable 11.97 @ 114mph (Personal best) on my last outing in June 2009 at SCR.

Pity you aren't really into Drag Racing, with performance and reliability like that you could do really well in Super Street...

Tony from Guildford. I've done aseason or two in a road car and now building a 'proper' racer.
First day out we managed a 1/4 time of 13.2 @ 112 with n 1/8 time of 8.9 @100.
Lots of fun to come next year.
