"Hi, I'm PiPPi and I'm a dragoholic." First time on the dragstrip was at Capitol Raceway outside of Washington DC, bracket racing my parents Olds Cutlass without their knowledge. Won my bracket and a fairly big trophy so it was fessup time when I got home. Mom loved it, dad never figured it out. That was in 1973. I'm of the Swedish persuation and my connection with drag racing nowadays is working the commentary for the UEM bikes at most of the UEM championship races. Regards PiPPi http://HarleyDrags.com

Hi All
Drag racing fan for about 30 years now.
Never got over my first trip to Long Marston in early eighties; the noise, speed, access and general vibe etc. Have been going to watch every year since and introduced many people to the sport along the way.
Pro photographer for a living and have shot a few pics at Pod for Autosport (1999) and for Pod's PR company. Apart from that, just an avid and passionate fan who feels strongly about all things European drag racing and its future direction

Now then!

Never raced, but fascinated with the VW drag scene since my teens, and hoping to hit some RWYB this year. Love the engineering behind drag cars, especially FWD ones....

James from Hertfordshire. I drag at the Pod mainly and now and again at Shakespeare. Dragged my Rover 800 Vitesse years ago and for the last 6 years or so have been hammering my Mitsi GTO.
Cheers

Does anyone remember a Blue Pontiac Trans Am at York Raceway late 80s early 90s. Steve Thackwray ran it?
Cheers

Hi I've been spectating at the Pod since 1967 and raced from 1973 in Junior Modified JM26 Muscle Sprout, then in 1976 in Comp Altered JCA 4,FCA 4 Muscle Sprout (Alfa Straight six 2.6 litre). It then became DCA4 Muscle Sprout (Rover V8) and ECA 74 Vicious Trait(TR 7 bodyshell). Almost stopped racing in 1986 but found the Street Machine Rover V8 Challenge so raced my "Super Sprite V8" for four years followed by "SuperB" MGBGT Pro Rover. Out of the sport for a few years but now going to the odd RWYB - still with the "Super Sprite V8" Lately I have renewed my Alfa interest and have built an Alfasud Sprint - with an Alfa V6 in the back rather than the flat four in the front!

Hi
I've been spectating since 1971 (HMS Daedalus, Lee-on-Solent) and 1973 at the Pod.
First race car was the ex Gerry Cookson Joker bought from Ray Feltell in 1978. Then the Ex Rick Fielding rear engined Imagination rail, with a blown 1275 Midget. Next was a short lived partnership in an ex Alkymist RE Chevy rail (later Ivan Birch's Snapdragon and Chris Worsell's Lo Buck Special). Finally bought a "proper" car in from the US (Shelly Howard's 7.90 car) which I raced from 1991 until 2008, also being one of the first 2 cars to race in Super Pro ET. This car was the basis for Laura Turbuville's new car. Had a new RED built over 1998-1999 by Kev Cerusale which sadly crashed due a holed piston causing oil under the slicks on it's 5th pass... Kev rebuilt the car which reappeared last year but never really ran due to a lot of new car gremlins. Just ran a PB of 6.26 at 206 at the Pod at Easter... Should be lots more to come when I learn how to drive it
Also had the pleasure of crewing on Shelly's TAD and later Tom Conway's cars in the US.
