Hi to all! It's Alex from Greece where the drag community is still newly born but growing fast (especially taking into consideration the fact that the country does not run its finest times).
Editor of the magazine that organized the first official RWYB in Greece, relatively a freshman in drag culture, feel more than happy to be here with you. Can't wait to share thoughts and ideas. Wish the best for everyone!
Thanks for having me!

Hello
Matt Moxon from Hull, I have met some of you guys at the pod (I’m a friend of TheMighty and am usually found wearing a cammo jacket).
Having somehow missed all things drag racing related until I was 26 I bought an American car in '09 and via a local club met TheMighty, who convinced me to come down down to Santa Pod for the Main Event weekend in 2010. I did and I loved every minute of it, nothing else motorsport related comes close. Since then I have done a few RWYB in my 2006 Mustang GT at York, managing with the help of TheMighty a respectable best ET of 13.73 @ 99.98mph on regular street tyres (quicker times to come with a bit more chassis and suspension tuning). I am now hooked and I have just applied for my MSA National B and after one or two more RWYB sessions at York I intend to enter American Super Stock and Sportsman at York for the remainder of the season to get a handle on completion racing.
Next year I want to do a full season (though I might miss a couple of meetings for the Easter Thunderball and the Main Event) to see how I do. I also want to run one or two events at Santa Pod in the sportsman classes - though that will mean extra expense of a fire suit etc so I'll have to see how finances are
I'm not sure if using ones daily driver is sensible for completion racing but it is the only way I am going to be able to do it - the car still needs a name too!

Hi,
Russ Weir signing-in.
I'm with the VWDRC and and race in VW Sportsman class. I've been competing since 2008; runner-up in 2009, Champ in 2010. I've had a couple of years off, but will be returning in 2013.
I race a '74 Karmann Ghia coupe. She's powered by a home-built 1914cc trin-carb'd motor, putting out about 100r/w bhp.
PB is 16.01, but I hope to get this down to mid-15s as I had a fuelling fault and was off the gas at 1000ft when I ran the PB.

Dave Thomas, into drag racing since the early 80s (so just a newbie!). Used to marshal at York, have crewed (been the gopher) with S/C team at Indy, been to a few US and Canadian strips over the years. Was briefly a contributor to the DRL (anyone remember the printed version?) Currently running an original '95 302 Mustang. Nitro junkie of course. 'Ain't no replacement for displacement!'
Lorcan Parnell, rider, Storm dragbike. Grew up around drag racing (dad Keith was the first bike in the 8s) and have competed around the fringes for decades (Ultstreet, NSA sprints etc). Storm is kind of a top fuel bike but with compound turbocharging instead of a supercharger and methanol instead of nitro. Forever in development. Built by Barry Eastman and Mick Hand.
