Though there have been plenty of cars in my past I'm probably best known for the 'Kitney Transplant' Anglia, and my 'KissMyRS' Escort (Though I did own the 'Thunderbird' Topolino altered for a time).

Hi i'm Mel. I'm totally addicted to drag racing. Which i guess is a bit strange as i don't see many girls on the line with me. Was at SPR last saturday (hi Slinky and Andy) but spend more time with my fellow HSV Forum members at Shakespeare County Raceway. We've hired it out on the 4th July and i cant wait. There's no other feeling in the world to me like sitting at the staging light waiting for the off Love it
John Walker. First Drag Race Santa Pod July 1973, the Petersen Publishing Internationals featuring Don Schumacher, Paula Murphy, Tony Nancy and Danny Johnson. Totally blown away, been hooked ever since.
1986 - 1989 was crewing and occasionally driving for Ivan Birch's Snapdragon Racing.
Just a mere spectator these days, just tend to do the major meets at the Pod and most years, Mantorp.

I'm Claire and I'm a very infrequent poster, as I always forget to login , although I do 'lurk' fairly regularly.
I'm only doing RWYB events at the moment for a bit of track time & practice, although hoping to enter Wild Bunch next year with my car, which some people might recognise as it was previously run in WB by Nick Connor (as the 'Barking Mad' altered).
I love drag racing, but the more I read on here and the more time I spend around cars, the more I realise I have loads to learn - I can fix very basic things myself, but have limited practical experience of any really technical work, so tend to be that random girl at events who ends up bugging teams with never ending questions :-D

I'm Bill Martland. I saw my first drag race at Woodvale in I think 1969 and first went to the Pod in 1972. I was a very regular spectator in the mid to late 70s up to the mid 80s sometimes going up for the full weekend either camping or later staying either at a pub called the Green Dragon in Higham Ferres or the Hind in Wellingborough { breakfasted there with Ray Beadle and Sammy Miller one year !}. Got out of the habit in the 80s and started going again in the late 90s, these days I do 3 or 4 Pod meetings a year and earlier this year went to Gainesville.
I have never raced though when I ran a 70 Trans am in the 70s it was looked after by the Stones so I did know a few racers back then. I now have a big block 1969 Corvette and I have done timed runs { very slow!} at both Shakey and Santa Pod on classic car runs.

Craig Gibbs. Been driving the Obsession Camaro since 1997, took over from Terry my dad. Been addicted to drag racing since I was only a couple of years old, having attended my first race meeting in 1977 strapped to the back seat of a camaro. Tried cold turkey during the early nineties (91-92) but it didn't work, and just made me even more enthusiastic for the sport we all love so much.
Im John Hackney, Started marshalling at SPR in 1984 at RWYB meets, progressed to Cheif starter, Race director, then started helping on timing When the TSI timing system was installed at Santa Pod. Have worked at Mantorp, Bahrain and Chimay (European Bug in). Now race a Suzuki Tl 1000r in Supertwin ET and crew on the Two seater Dragster, Run a Copy and print shop for all of your poster and Hero card needs

Hi Guys, I'm Gaz Bott, I raced Formula One Stock cars up to 1998. BBC's loved them. Tarmac car was a 517 and the shale car 545, motors maintained by Peter Knight. I thought I'd got rid of a bad habit until a chance trip to the Pod with my LS2 HSV Ute to see what she could do. Have been doing RWYB's regularly now and at the tender age of 57 can see meself being totally hooked. I told Andy Frost at the weekend that if I'd found out about Drag Racing earlier I'd have been doing that instead. Andy said I'd have been broke quicker, I told him two divorces did it quicker than that.
I've snook into a couple of meetings recently, breathed in deeply met soem really nice folk and loved every minute.

Not been to a race for a while, though am thinking about Indy this year - 25 years since I first went.
Good to see a few names I kinda recognise - especially Ricky - how's yer drains mate?

I'm "Scotch" Rob Inglis, I've crewed the last 10 years on all the various Knut Soderquist top fuel and funny cars and now with Micke Kagered Racing. Started out doing the bottom end and gradually worked my way around everything, of late been helping Al Jackson on the setup and tuning side and now assisting Edvin on the clutch and Emil on the tuning side for Team Kagered. I live outside sunny Aberdeen and work as an independant drilling consultant in my 6th year of business, and most recently provided Frosty and Slinky with some financial assistance to buy an even bigger stick to beat their little Red Victor with... Been working away when time and money permits on a 1972 Holden HQ the last 5 years, originally acquired from David and Caroline of Laffin Gas rocket dragster fame. Knight Racing Services/Superpower Unlimited SBC and Frost Racing Transmissions combo in that, hopefully hits the streets later in the year and we shall see what time it does on track in due course. Should look like Red Victors bigger, blacker Aussie half-cousin

Hi, Tony Adamson living in sunny Yorkshire and have been a spectator for 32 years and 4 of those years was spent marhsalling at york raceway in the late 80's / early 90's. My old man, god rest his soul, was race director at york (and santa pod on a couple of occassions) which looking back makes me even more proud of him I've never raced although between me and my dad we owned Firefly for a number of years with the aim of getting her back to glory but as is the case when money's tight, never did.
