Chris Hodgkins. Grew up in an oval racing family but that never really seemed the right way to go for me. Had my 1st taste of drag racing when I was about 4 on a family outing to the pod. I can remember watching Sammy Miller and turning to my dad and stating "that's what I want to do". From then on drag racing became my obsession.
Started racing not long after I got my driving license in 98, with an Audi in sportsman ET, had quite a bit of success and decided to get a bit more serious.
Currently driver, co owner and builder of our small block dragster in Pro et.

Lee Kirk. Currently bottom end monkey for Graham Ellis' Pro Mod Superbird, formally Crew Chief for the family's Rat Fink '67 Camaro in Super Gas, Super Comp and Super Modified....with a nostalgia fuel funny car on the way. Went to my first race as a 6 month old and have been ever-present since!

SuZe - Podite through and through... Just love the place!!!
Been involved there now for around 15 years and can usually seen found in a Marshalls shirt working in the Media Centre behind the grandstand, or out and about all over the country promoting Pod at various shows and events.
Also seen out on the startline when 9.50 Bikes come out to play, as I'm t'other half of Phil Pratt.. YAY!!
The Scooby nickname has nothing to do with cars... it was given to me by Smax Smith, years and years ago, when I was lucky enough to have a couple of seasons crewing with him and the gang on the Mainline Menace Altered and Astral Projection Dragster!!
If ya see me gimme a wave or come and say Hi!!

If you see a Saxon T-shirt it may be me.
Or if not, it's probably me...Being from the north near where Saxon came from, I am well into metal of all kinds and have been since the early 70's. Customising/hot rods etc was my thing back then with a massive interest in drag racing from 78 to date, but I never raced even though York is only down the road!
I don't post much on here now but do look in often to see what's going on. After the unmentionable barn thing and the emotions of such a loss I feel a little out of place sometimes when opening my gob so I tend keep it shut!
Being a time served mechanic and a trucker I would love to get involved with the spanner work on a team. But with my job hours, that just won't work as I would probably end up letting someone down and that's something I don't want to do!

John "Billy" Parker Longtime part-time Sportsman et, touring street class gypsie and rwyb'er
Sorry if I ever seem grumpy or bad tempered if you stop and chat at the track, it's not because I'm busy and focused on the next round of racing, it's because I'm grumpy and bad tempered.
Hi John a.k.a. Billy you grumpy old git!Sorry if I ever seem grumpy or bad tempered if you stop and chat at the track, it's not because I'm busy and focused on the next round of racing, it's because I'm grumpy and bad tempered.
Hey Tethys, hope to run the final 2 rounds later this year, spent the last few rwyb's getting my daughter and her friend some seat time in my old 12 second Fox with a view that they'll join the merry throng next season. Seems like sportsman has been impacted this year in terms of entry numbers, whats your view? credit crunch or maybe removal from FIA meets? or is it just a natural cycle & numbers will come back?
Nick, it is as you say

Ian Moore, been watching drag racing since 1998. Just started to crew for Derek Flynn of Gold RV with his Nitro Injected TMD.
Only been down the track once, as a passenger, with Mick Howling in Grumpy's Dodge last year with Paul Marston's Drag racing school - This was the reason I wanted to be more than a spectator.
Been to a few NHRA event. and made a few video's of santa pod etc - they're on youtube under bikermoore, if you fancy a watch.

I run the Rebel-V8 forum and a group of us from there call ourselves the Rebel Racers when we run at RWYB events.
You'll find us as things like the Mopars and Gary's Picnic where I run my 2003 Harley F150. It has dipped into the high 12's under the right conditions.
I've made the shootout at Garys for the last 3 years (that really needs to be a bracket) and actually won the EFI class in 2009 when SVT Rick had a season of for rebuilding.

I'm Guy Waltham, a normal, middle aged bloke from Birmingham.
Just a spectator and a fan of the sport, so not involved in anything.
When I was 12 or 13, I heard about this place where cars did 200mph, so I twisted my Dad’s arm to take me and some mates there. I now know it was the Schumacher/Murphy meeting in 1973. I was blown away by the spectacle of Nitro and was then trying to get there as often as possible, which meant that I managed to catch 3 or 4 meetings each year
Life experiences, took me away from the sport in the late seventies, but I came back in the early naughties and I now sit on the bank at about 330ft with a great bunch of people, that I basically met through the Dragsterworld Forum.
