I work as a motor racing artist. Although 99% of my work is 'roundy roundy' circuit racing, I love drag racing. I always try to fit in the Thunderball, Main Event & Euro Finals in my schedule of many circuit race meetings where I meet clients. I am official artist to Lewis Hamilton and work for many ( circuit)race teams.
I first came to Santa Pod in 1971...Priddle v Skilton...and have been almost every year since. I recall that great 1976 meeting when Pete Crane was first in the fives and also attended drag meetings at Silverstone & Snetterton in the 1970s. I just love it and constantly try to persuade my circuit racing buddies to come. Those that do are instantly hooked..there is life beyond corners! Google my name if you are interested to see my site.

I'm only a spectator am I still allowed here? biggrin

Been a bit of a regular at York for a few years until this year (bloody house)

Went to my second Euro finals this year, and plan to get to more.

One day I hope to be able to afford to try my hand at racing.

Funnily enough, I was talking to a friend at the weekend who met Sammy in a Chinese restaurant near Pod after he came out of hospital following one of his runs.

"That blower is so knackered, we just keep it on so the hat doesn´t fall off" biggrin

Hi Benni,

We did indeed meet there, great to see you, hopefully next year too! That was a great quote about the blower, I wonder what the car would do if it was all working?!

Strange about the pictures, they seemed to work fine yesterday, I will try to load them again, or are you on facebook?

Stu Bradbury.
Been at Santa Pod since 1965 when there was only weeds on the track. Painted the first white line up the center of the famous quarter mile, filled plywood boxes with old stones and dug up concrete runway for the barriers and so on. I'm still there after 46 years so I think I might just stay. Employed in the American parts supply industry with John Woolfe Racing for 23 years, then US Automotive for over 9 years, total of 32 years in the business. Now semi retired, founder member and Chairman of the British Drag Racing Hall Of Fame, also help out Andy Carter and Santa Pod Raceway with VIP's on race days and display days, giving anybody who ask's a run down what it's all about. None related racing activity, Vice Chairman of our local residents association.

I have just joined PH forum....Paul Spiers, i race a 69 Camaro in Super Comp, looking forward to some interesting topics over the comming months. My first Santa Pod experience was in 1984, we watched for many years before talking the plunge and buying and racing in Pro Et in 2002/3 in "Team Lawbreakers" 78 Camaro. I now have 69 Camaro, starting to get there after a number of intial teething problems. I wish that I never got addicted because your always skint...oh well
