Look mate, no offense, this is a Honda forum. If you don't like it, then fk off. Simples.

I for one don't give a crap what Scooby i could buy for the same money. There common as muck, and are mostly driven by fat bald 30 year old virgins. Only one id have is a P1. Bug eye, blob eye etc, are all rank. Not to mention the MPG which is gonna be 10mpg less than a DC5, and general running costs, and loads of modded one's tend to break.

If he wants a teg, he wants a teg, nobody cares if you prefer a Focus or a scooby.

Eaaaaaasy mate, no need to get eggy and turn into a Honda fanboy. I had a Bugeye STi and I'm 30, but I ain't fat and bald hehe Saying that, it wasn't for me in the end and I got my S2000.

I love cars. Not one make of cars, not even cars made in one country. The great thing about PH as opposed to somewhere like s2ki is there are loads of owners with different cars which makes it interesting.

You can have a discussion with RB without being offensive smile

Oooh touchy, how very immature, not allowed to suggest other cars around here without you getting upset?

I didnt realise you owned the forum if you do then i am eternally sorry, but as i doubt this is the case I will stay around as long as I like thank you.

I will let the op tell me if he is not considering any other cars and is dead set on the Integra, in which case i wont suggest any anymore, but i missed the bit where he said he would not consider and other marque of car.

I was just pointing out that you can get other cars for your money, and my Impreza over 2 years has cost me less to run than a few friends with type-r`s.

If you dont like it perhaps PH is not for you and you should stick to a closed minded Honda only forum, where everyone will bang on about how they are the best things ever, as it would seem that would make you feel more comfortable.

I'm still a long way off a test drive yet, work is pulling in the reigns on me. I don't mind suggestions about other cars, but as I stated, I'd prefer the thread stay on track and information about the DC5 provided.

One quick one, there are two types of DC5, which is the better to aim for? I quite like the bobbly headlight version over the straight headlight version?

If the OP wanted suggestions of other cars, the thread would of been called "what car for me" etc, etc, not Integra DC5.

Shall i go into the Suburu bit and tell everyone in there asking about scooby's to get something else?

Of course i might be proved wrong, but if the OP is after a hig revving, N/A, FWD, DC5, why would a 4wd, 4 door, turbo saloon with bigger running costs, interest?

There is no performance difference between the facelift and prefacelift, totally up to you on looks. Most people prefer the pre, as do i.

No problem mate, anytime.

May i suggest heading over to http://www.itr-dc5.com/forum/ and signing up. Someone close to you will more than likely take you out for a spin, were a good bunch of lads on the forum. Though obviously if you listen to certain scooby owners were a bunch of Honda fanboy losers.

This will also help: http://www.integratyper.org/specs/facelift.htm

Basically the front splitter, headlights and rear bumper are different, the rear bumper has this awful black bit accross it on the facelift. Also the clocks are a bit different.

Anything else let me know.

There is a reason they are universally highly regarded, and not just for being fast. In fact a couple of them along with an evo or 2 got in evo magazines top 100 drivers cars of all time test and for good reason, as did the dc2, I didnt see the dc5 there though. wink
Its because the DC2 and 5 are very similar cars in the handling department (depending on who you listen to, one side will always say theirs is better and those that have had both will disagree with others that had both wink )

Therefore there was no need to include the 5 into the survey. If you also go by the stats at the back of Evo; well there wrong and if you read the review they did way back when, what you wont know is that its an owners car they reviewed and he asked them not to break it.

Though your right in that the DC5 is st, i mean its not as if it didnt win back to back BTCC championships on its 1st/2nd year of competing did it.

Please show me where i said the dc5 was st? Point it out to me as i am having trouble finding it.

All i was saying is that imprezas are not boring and no fun as the other poster was saying, which i pointed out was total balls, you only have to watch that vid i posted to see that.

I like the dc5 contrary to how you decided to decipher my post which was purely disproving the other poster that was attempting to rubbish imprezas, which is obviously rediculous.

But as i said my personal preference is for turbocharged cars unless the engine is of a higher capacity.

Sorry i interpretated that sentance i quoted as you suggesting that the DC5 wasnt a decent handling/drivers car as it didnt rock up in the Evo Top 100 blabla

No problem, I was just pointing out the other posters mistake, he was slating imprezas, I never slated the integras.

Reading all this makes me want a DC5 now. Was going to get one 2 years ago but the insurance was way to expensive @ 23y.o if I could get it at all. Bought my Focus ST instead.

I lucky that there is a garage that imports them quite local. They still seem to be the same price today as they were 2 years ago.

Much prefer the pre-facelift ones, championship white of course.

The best combination, that's what I had. I do miss that car, I'd definitely have another. Mine was a very low mileage early example that was extremely well cared for by the previous owner (and myself, too) - it really was absolutely unblemished.

I really like the interior of DC5s; the dash layout seems quite different in appearance to many other cars, I like the way it seems to focus on the driver and the material on the top part of "binnacle" is quite funky. The seats are great, as mentioned, and it is very solidly built throughout.

They hold their value very well, too. I actually sold mine for a fraction more than I bought it for 14 months earlier - the guy who bought it from me had known of the car for a long time and wanted to buy it as soon as he had any hint that it might be for sale!

Overall, they're brilliant cars and all this talk of them is making me a bit sad that I don't have one anymore frown

Dc5 is one of the most marmite cars you will find personally I think they are one of the best looking cars Honda have made and have a great respect for the way they handle and drive the part that put me off them was the silly insurance group and the fact many I have seen have excessive seat wear. They can be quite a harsh ride on our crappy rds you really need to drive one you will either love or hate it.

The seat wear thing is actually easily sorted. You can buy new bolsters for the Recaros, they're easy enough to strip and refurbish. You've probably seen pictures of them looking really grubby, too - you'd be amazed that you can actually get them looking brand new again with some gentle cleaning solution and a bit of time.

Insurance often isn't as crazy as you'd expect, I was with Admiral and it was very reasonable in actual fact.

After owning two ep3s and always hankering after a dc5 i finally got one earlier this month! Awesome peice of kit for the money.

If your worried about low end power etc budget £1k for a Hondata ECU and a pukka map. Vtec on mine engages around 4k at full throttle and midrange power is signifaicantly improved (Think 50bhp up on a standard car at 5krpm). Furthermore despite mine having numerous other mods its 3/4mpg better off on my day to day commute than my EP3 was.
