Thankyou

Almost bought a BMW 1 series 120D M Sport Coupe as was doing around 500miles a week driving to DJ gigs.

But now i'm getting trains and getting clubs to pay for travel costs so can have a petrol car again.

Had an FTO Mivec before and this seems to be the most modern version of that car. Can't wait to get into one and take it round the northumberland country roads.

I've seen quite a few that say worn seat bolsters, but this is a common fault, is it a common fault and are they easy to fix?

Starter button isn't a standard part of the C-Pack. Mine didn't have one but had the rest of the bits.

Careless entry and exit will result in worn bolsters, and it is fairly common. Being careful whilst getting in and out of the car can avoid it though.

There is a good guide to replacing worn bolsters on itrdc5.co.uk. If you're even reasonably handy with a screwdriver it should be no hassle.

I was lucky enough to pick mine up with around 16k miles on the clock 8 years ago now. It's been bulletproof throughout my ownership, Only things I've replaced are general wear and tear items such as Tyres, brake pads and discs and regular services and a clutch.

Servicing isn't expensive if you go to one of the specialists such as TGM which is where i take mine.

I was lucky enough to have the C Pack on mine with the Engine Start button and a set of Spoon Springs. I've also purchased a second hand Gruppe M Carbon Induction Kit which gives an amazing noise on Vtec Changeover. I drive mine daily to work and the mpg is around 30 and on a decent run i've managed to get 400 miles out of a tank.

Seat bolsters and fabric can be purchased and replaced yourself or Capital Seating which supply the replacement parts also offer a fitting service. I had my drivers bolster replaced as it was a little worn.

Insurance isn't too bad for me now, i'm 32 with maximum no claims and it's costing me around £450 with my mods declared.

You'd hope so at that price.

To be fair, there's a LOT of spec on that car. You'd struggle buy a good DC5 and install a s/c conversion for much less, even before the rest of the mods.

So a small market, probably, but it's not priced that stupidly.
