Try the Porsche. I am probably selling my STi for a cayman S in the summer...

Will do Paul. You'd be better off selling the Scoob now with this weather!

rofl My personal opinion of a 350bhp STi in the snow seems to somewhat differ with the general populous.

The Boxster is a great car. A couple of lads have them at work. My cousin sells them ( http://www.ranthonyporsche.co.uk/ - ignore prices, those cars are years old and he never updates this site).

This site is worth a read.

Looked at STI's before I got my S2000... What's it like in the snow/sh*t conditions?

Mine is not very good because of the wide summer tyres and big'ish BHP. Personally speaking, you don't buy one for the snow as such. However, in the wet they are great, hence I guess why they seem popular in Wales... I love mine, but it's a handful on the road and only really gets worked properly on the track...

Mine was fantastic in the snow, unlike the S2000 this morning biggrin

I've been quite happy with the way my s2k on KW27s has performed in what is left of the snow and slush, my BMW on MPS's was hopeless in similar conditions.

Still apprehensive about proper fresh snow though.
My S2K on Kuhmos is doing fine too - on the fresh snow outside work it was good and the slush doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Obviously I'm not being heavy footed or going in the VTEC rev range..

Compared to my previous BMW it's on a level and I never had problems with the BM.

It's not for me, yet. I need something really raw, sharp and edgy for a while... and the VX fits the bill.

Yes, as a pure driving machine I get it. The Porsche is more rounded I guess... Have fun and post some pics soon smile

Good luck with the VX... I've been tempted bye those things for a while... I love the tiny steering wheel and raw interiors... For now I'm sticking with my S2000 though! smile

Mine is a bit sketchy over slushy/wet surfaces and feels a bit hairy when powering around corners. Needs new rear tyres and going to get the Geo sorted soon, so should be able to push it a bit more in confidence!

It's official, here ends my S2000 owners thread frown I have to say it was a fantastic, reliable and engaging car and I'm sure I will miss it, especially that peach of an engine. In the end I lusted after something lighter, rawer and more involving. I might come back to an S2000 in the future, but until then, meet Vicky:

2.2 NA. Blue is nice, but prefer silver.

The 2.2 NA feels nippy and eager to change direction, like a small terrier biggrin In an out and out drag race, the S2000 would be quicker, especially once you get past 60mph.

I think it does 0-62 in under six seconds, so by no means slow!

You not noticing its a bit slower? Pretty sure its the same 2.2 I had in an Astra Coupe many moons ago? (155-160bhp)

Good reliable engine though, pretty much bomb proof if looked after smile

At lower speeds it is nippier and yes, faster, than the S2000. Its only when properly booted and wound up that the S2000 would be quicker. As all my driving is below 70 mph, I am more than happy with the change! It is just so involving, even when pootling along. In comparison, every other car I have owned (bar the MX5) feels numb and anodyne.

Edit: Yes, I think it is the same engine.
