Without wanting to turn this into a tyre debate...

I'm curious to know how you get on with the goodyears.

Jurgen - did you get the Asym2 normal version or the XL version? (Extra Load).
I actually went for the normal, non-XL version, on the following advice I was provided with:
  • The XL is only stiffer if you up the tyre pressure - not sure that's a good idea if you haven't got the weight to go with it...
  • Some XL are actually softer than non XL at 32psi.
  • XL means you can pump them up more, in reality you won't pump them up more than non-XL & you end up with a heavier tyre!
4 weeks and a couple of hundred miles on, I can provide some feedback on the tyres themselves; I largely agree with Jurgen's sentiments. Going from the RE050MZs, they feel a little more 'spongy' in comparison due to the softer sidewalls, and the ride is a little softer as a result. Given my suspension setup is factory standard, I'd probably prefer the firmer sidewalls of the RE050MZs, getting maximum feedback from the road surface.

That said, the F1 Asymmetric 2s inspire a lot more confidence and I've yet to brake traction - in areas I know I could have previously, i.e. pulling sharply out of a t-junction on an incline - despite the recent greasy road surfaces. Due to the softer sidewall (and perhaps compound?) the car does feel like it moves around more, perhaps due to greater levels of grip achieved on our uneven UK roads! The Bridgestones, in this respect, feel a little more 'skittish'.

Very happy with the purchase - as prior research indicated the above characteristics were expected between the two tyres - and I'm sure they'll serve the car well yes.

That is a mint looking AP1! Do you mind if I share it on my S2000 Facebook?
Thank you very much! You're very welcome to share it with those who share a passion for the S2000 thumbup.

Thanks very much, LHRFlightman thumbup.

Well, it was exactly 4 years ago - to the day eek - that I placed the deposit on the S2000 cloud9.

Coincidentally, this also happened today:

That's right - the big half century, 50,000 miles! wobble Still relatively low for a MY04 car....

Whilst I only covered ~8k miles across the first 3 years of ownership, this last year has seen me cover ~9k miles, although this does of course include the awesome >2k French roadtrip cool.

Well, the 5th year of ownership has started in the best possible fashion - the MOT took place yesterday morning…

Passed with flying colours once again, clap with zero advisories.
I really don't think I'll ever own a car as reliable as this! cloud9bow

Thank you - you can't beat open top motoring with blue skies like that cool.

Spent some time yesterday treating the car to a spring clean prior to a prospective viewing; here are a few photos for your enjoyment:

A reminder of how the cockpit is such a great place to be - we don't see many interior shots posted often:

Took a while to clean but it was very satisfying yes

This PistonHeads article was thrown my way recently:

"Honda S2000: Catch it While You Can"
http://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-japanesecars/ho...

...and it certainly made me reminisce about this wonderful car bow I let go back in Spring 2014... weeping.
Sorely missed, even my wife claims it was/is her favourite car yes. It was such a clean example!

If you have one, keep hold of it!

Love the S2000 in yellow! My wife's friend used to own one. I have one in Silverstone, always wanted black.
Out of interest, what would a good condition S2000 be selling for in 10 years time, good DC2's are commanding big money, I wonder if the s2000 will ever hit the 20k mark?
