I've got a 2005 CR-V and recently bought a key off ebay that was cut to the right code. It fits the lock perfectly and turns the starter motor but doesn't start the car as the transponder needs to be coded to the car. Apart from Honda dealerships, are there any places in London that can do this for a reasonable cost?

This is the key I bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-TRANSPONDER-KEY-CU...

Well you will need the original bar code that came with the car key so the code can be reset, I,m 99% sure this can only be done by a Honda Dealer for security reasons, they can obtain your code throught your VIN no....on car....you will need proof of ownership like the log book in your name before Honda would code any key....hope this helps.....the price of the key can vary from approx £120-£200....

Keys are to be coded at the honda dealer, you dont need the bar codes, they will get all the relevent information to code the key from the chassis number

Thanks guys - do you know how much they'd charge if I already have a key cut, and just need it coded? I can take the V5/my driving licence etc along with me no problem.
