I've had my EP3 since November, and at first I was a little apprehensive about the lack of torque that pretty much everyone I encountered warned me about.

Turns out it's totally unfounded. To me it's just like any other 2.0l but with the added fun above 5k. I live in the Welsh valleys and commute to Bridgend each day, which takes me along a 15 mile route that is never flat. I can do the whole trip in 6th without much trouble.

And then when the mood takes you, it can be as lively as you please!

I drive a 366BHP E46 M3 and got the misses a Premiere edition EP3 Type R so I get to drive both. They are completely different cars in every way possible apart from the fact they are both NA. Other than that, I do kind of enjoy driving the Type R occasionally, but still cant wait to get back in the M3.

I have had a couple of V Tec Hondas in the past so knew what to expect out the CTR. It certainly has better low down Torque than my old B18 or B16 Honda had. This is due to it having higher displacement and i-V Tec. However, it will still feel rubbish if you are used to Turbo'd cars. It is fine for pottering around town. Fuel economy is reasonable for a 2 Litre if you keep it out of V Tec. It's a good all rounder. Light weight, good looking (for a bread van) especially with the Recaro seats, Reasonable MPG, good boot space and folding rear seats (we often get two bikes in the back and a dog) and very reliable/cheap to run. In some ways, the complete opposite to my M3. They are good for a Daily Driver, but maybe not the fun weekend toy you are looking for. I tend to find if I'm driving it and the Misses isn't in the car, I drive it like a complete Hooligan, They liked to be Revved to the Redline so you end up thrashing it to have fun. This isn't a problem for the K20 engine though, it loves it!

The CTR is perfect for my Misses and what she wants out of a car. Her Strict criteria was: Under £6k, 2005 or newer, Hatchback for the Dog, Reliable, reasonably economical on fuel and reasonably sporty. This ticked all the boxes and was one of the only cars I could think of that I would actually want to drive too! I only told her to buy it, so I could thrash it every now and then! It is a good laugh and the Honda V tec engines are brilliant. They are very Jeckyl and Hyde in their Characteristics. Sedate or Animal, you decide by the application of your right foot and selection of the right gear!

My M3 costs a lot more for everything: Tyres, Servicing, Fuel, Brakes, repairs, insurance. In my opinion it is worth every penny though. It is epic!

You definitely made the right choice in my opinion. RWD FTW!
