Hello all, im after a timing chain tensioner for my S2000 but im having trouble sourcing one. Ive rang my local Honda main dealer and was quoted £287 for the part not sure if this is a fair price or way too much.
I have seen cheaper on ebay and other sites but im worried about the quality and would ideally like something OEM or better. Has anybody got any advice on websites selling OEM stuff or a decent aftermarket make, or is that £287 an alright price?

many thanks

Pringle, hope you have a large tube of Vaseline there at the ready as it sounds like you are, about to be shafted, negotiate hard and shop around various stealers.

Also try Hendy

Or the US and import one

Or if you know some one who is going to the Far East on hols get them to buy one for you , 3 years ago I bought one in Thailand on spec from a Honda Stealer , £78 !

Or have yours shot blasted and the oil way drilled out , there are a couple of guys on S2ki who do this on a return basis

I think you can get an updated one from one of the tuning companies for that sort of money

Or a guy in the states called Bilman does one he guarantees them , again find him on S2ki

My Thai one still sits on the kitchen cabinets awaiting its time !

Haha cheers for that.
Ive seen a few forums mention Bilman so will look into that. Does anybody have any experience of Tegiwai imports http://www.tegiwaimports.com/ ? They at least sell it for £100 less.

I don't think you'd have any issues with the CCT from Tegiwa, they import plenty of quality components and are known on the s2ki forum.

I have a Toda unit fitted to my car but as it was done by the previous owner I'm not exactly sure where they're sourced from... IIRC they're about £150 so considerably cheaper than the OEM part.

Tegiwa sell the Chain and Tensioner for £235 might be worth giving them a shout.

Thanks everybody. I ordered from Tegiwa, just have to say what a fantastic and quick service.
Wasnt sure if the little rubber o ring things came with it so posted up a question on their website. Got an answer back straight away then ordered. Thumbs up for them, and now order received.
