My FN2 is suffering from worn and squeaky brake pads. I mostly drive in the city centre in rush hour and do a lot of quick, stop start driving. I was thinking of buying online and fitting myself. Any advice gratefully received

if it's just the squeaking - cake them in copper grease? That's what I do and never have noisy pads! OEM Honda ones seem to be good, even cheap ebay ones will be up to the job unless you're doing track work.

Quick stop start driving and city centre work - don't waste your money on anything more than OEM pads, you just don't need to.

Try it in a different place. I coat the back of the pads, the sides, and the slides in it.

I read on a forum today that Honda OEM pads have an "early wear indicator" built into them and that is why they squeak, to let you know to change them. It looks like copper grease would only delay the inevitable. I saw them for £110 on Hondas fixed service plan and thought it seemed ok as it includes 12 month warranty on the work
