Any Civic 1.6 i-dtec owners here?

Looking for a new, mid-size car and after a test drive I came away quite impressed.
Seemed like a very easy car to drive and a nice place to sit.

Any owners with decent mileages done able to comment? Real world MPG, reliability, enough power/poke for overtaking etc.

Well ours is due for delivery next Wednesday.
I'm looking forward to getting back into a Honda, although it is a shame it isn't a red badge.

It arrived. I have to say it's a nice car throughout with decent build quality and refinement. The engine is fairly punchy and quiet at idle - a little noisy when revved but then why bother being over 3,5k RPM in a motor like this anyway.

Cabin is quite good, equipment generous and rear seat flexibility great.

Sorry for brief review - short on time

Honda is one of THE most reliable brands.

I drove to Le Mans and back in my 1.6 dtec with 3 people in and loaded full of beer, tents etc and managed 67mpg iirc. That's doing around 70mph on CC.

I've seen nearly 80mpg on some trips - I was trying super hard to get the best economy though. 60+mpg is easy to get and nearer 70 on motorway journeys. If not more! They take a few thousand miles to quieten down and loosen up...

Yes we need to use it more. Otherwise it'll take a year to loosen up at this rate.

The economy figures you quite are fantastic. I hope ours returns the same.

Our has arrived. Less than 200 miles so far and averaging 62mpg on small, back roads without trying to be too economical.
Incredible economy and a nice place to be.

I'm happy smile

Out of interest do your doors auto lock when you set off? Ours don't and I'd like them to.

No they don't and I don't think any Hondas do that

Hi Guys - not at all impressed with my 48 mpg

Really want to hear from fellow 2014 owners

Just posted new thread - 'Honda Civic 1.6 iDtec - Poor Economy of 2014 cars' http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

I have been collecting VIN# & economy figures for a week now and it is VERY clear thus far that 2014 cars are collectively averaging 40% less mpg than 2013 cars!!!

Ours being 2013 I will check tomorrow what our averages are. And it'll be based on town driving with less than 700 miles on the clock.
