My Mrs wants an S2000 and I went to look at my first one at a dealer yesterday. It was an 08 plate and in good condition but the paint on the lower front bumper was very poor. Not shiny at all, bit orange peely and rather dull looking. Almost as if it didnt have an lacquer. Now I assumed this meant it had had a bodged front end respray (and there were other indications of this) but wanted to check.

So can any S2000 owners confirm that their front bumper paint is shiny all the way to the bottom of the front bumper ? It was particularly bad around the air dam.

The paint should be perfect, it mustve had a poor respray.

Thanks for the info. I think the one I was looking at had been in a front end smash and been poorly repaired so I just walked away , the search continues !

My paint is still quite shiney on the front also. Although it is absolutely covered in stone chips on the very lower bit.
(Its and 04 plate)

Honda paint is thin, so common to have lots of chips on it! But it's definitely not orange peel like, cheap respray - I'd walk (personally I'd walk from an 08 plate one anyway)
