I've got a '54 reg EP3 civic type r and the 10 year service is coming up shortly. Does anyone know of a decent and cheap place to get genuine parts? Service book says it needs quite a bit... Probably going to buy the parts myself and give it to my local garage (which is a Ford) to do the service. It's got FSH so far and don't really want to stop the trend although I could do everything myself.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I can highly recommend Area Motorsport in Stoke on Trent...they look after my Ep3 type r..These guys really know their stuff when it comes to Hondas! Prices are very competitive and they compete in the tegiwa civic cup with their own Ep3.. Oh and they also work on Mclaren gt race cars! 01562 519 070 speak to rob very helpful.hope this helps pal

Thanks for letting me know, unfortunately I'm near Bedford so but far really!

I'm tempted to do it myself so any places for parts would be good? Anyone reckon that would make any difference if I sell it in a couple of years??

I'd say if you're going to do it for a couple of years, the money you'll potentially lose come selling time for not having full stamped history, you'll probably make up with the cost savings.

But if only keeping for 1 year (I get bored of cars too quickly) might be cheaper to get a garage to do it.

As for parts, I'd use ebay personally.

These guys can supply you OEM parts

I would be more than happy to buy an EP3 that's had service done by someone as long as they had invoices for the parts!!

Do it yourself just buy genuine parts and do what the is recommended valve clearances etc, there is nothing about a ep3 engine that needs special attention it is just a n/a dohc engine
